First trip to Barbados, it was my birthday and only my second time of riding a horse. My husband surprised me with this gift and believe me we were both surprised by the gracious, friendly owners of Ocean Echo Stables. My horse was Frida my husbands was Royalty. It was almost a 2 hour tour through forest and on the beach! Views were absolutely stunning. Seba, the owners daughter, stayed with me the whole time( I was nervous) but she was so patient and explained a lot of the surroundings to us.(There was another couple from Britain on the tour too) Their car picked us up at The Crane and drove us to their location brought us back. About a 20 minute ride. When I say it was wonderful, it really was!!! They served us cool beverages when we got back to the stables and we watched the horses getting cooled off too by hosing down. This is a family owned operation and they take care of you like you are family.
Try it, believe me, you will not only like it you will love it.

Thank you Samantha and Albert fit such a fantastic experience. A beautiful way to see the east coast and get away from it all.

My husband has never ridden before but felt completely safe and well looked after.

Great communication, super horses and charming people. We’ll be back!

horses, bad tack and just a "treadmill" for money. I have seen this kind of place before.... We therefore went a couple of days before I wanted to ride, on an on spec visit to make sure that this was the sort of place that I was happy to spend US$80 for an hour's ride.

I shouldn't have worried! Really good horses, well maintained and with good tack. I talked with one of the helpful and knowledgeable staff and decided to go for it. They don't take rides of more than six out.

A follow up phone call from the owner established "all the facts" and I duly presented myself on the day. Heart sank a bit as I arrived to see an obvious ride of four very obvious beinners being mounted up. O gawd, I'm just going to go trekking! No, No. Off they set with a guide at front and back, happy as larry.

I was treated, as an experienced rider to a ride on my own with a guide. The owner thought that I wouldn't have enjoyed a beginners ride, how great was that!

And boy did I have a great ride! Staggering views, lots of fast work. Great little trails through the countryside. Then the ulitamate, which I'd specially requested, a ride on the beach near Bathsheba. Bliss! Into the sea and even a canter back along the beach through the waves,

Can't rate this stables highly enough (and I've seen a few!). Really caring owner and staff who obviously care greatly for their horses and make it a purpose to look after their riders as well.

If you love horses and riding in all sorts of places, give Ocean Echo Stables a go. It will be truly worth it.

My first time riding a horse.
It was very enjoyable ride through the St.John country with a knowledgeable guide. He shared on the history of the area and identified several trees we passed and their medicinal uses.

Although a member of a party was late for the tour Samantha made no fuss and engaged us in an interesting conversation. My mum stayed behind as she didn't want to go on the horse and was comfortable and kept engaged.
A pleasant refreshing drink was given at the end!

The views were really interesting.
Definitely worth doing!!

We were a party of 5 that booked the 1 1/2 hour hack through the countryside and beach.
We had a fabulous time and our 2 guides one at the front and one at the back of our group were really friendly and told us loads of information about the countryside and all the plants and wildlife.
Communication with Samantha was really easy and always had a quick response. The driver collected us from our hotel and took us to the sables. The horses were matched to our abilities and they were all very safe and well behaved.
It’s really a lovely feeling to being riding along the beach, we had a great time and cannot recomend Samantha and her term enough.

We had a great time at this tour - both me and my partner have had only ridden a horse once before, but the horses were really nice and gentle and the guide kept giving us pointers during the ride (which was very useful, especially going up and down slopes). We did the one and a half tour option, which was great because it gives you the time to get to the beach with the horses. If you are a complete novice like us, I would not recommend doing a tour longer than this, because your lower body really starts to hurt. The guide was really good - told us a lot about the the area, the history of Barbados and about all the plants we were passing by. We even saw green monkeys in the trees and my boyfriend spotted a mongoose as well! Would definitely recommend if you want a bit of non-traditional way of seeing the east coast of the island.

We were picked up on time from hotel and taken to stables by a man not sure of his name but he was friendly . Myself and my 8 year old daughter who loves to ride did the 90 minute ride it was just the two of us on the trek . I was a little concerned as we are not experienced riders . I needn’t have worried as the horses were really calm and easy to ride . Our guide was Albert and he was such a nice friendly person who gave us loads of information about the area and took photos for us . The horses seemed happy and looked well cared for . When we got back to the stables we were given a drink and Samantha then drove us back to the hotel she was a lovely lady also . I would do this ride again and recommend to others . A nice way to see some of Barbados and friendly people

I called Samantha about a week before my trip and she promptly got me and my friend scheduled on a morning ride. I cannot say enough about this stable. Scott our guide was fantastic! I have been riding on many carribean islands but nothing compares to ocean echo. They keep their groups small and personable. I cannot wait to return to Barbados to ride again with them! The sweetest people and the most gentle horses..... if there was an option for 10 stars they would receive it!

Sam was amazing! She picked us up directly from our cruise port terminal. She then drove us to the stables herself (about 30 min drive), which was a nice way to see the island and she is very nice and interesting to talk to. Then we rode with Burnhard who showed us all of the plant life and fruit/vegetable trees in the area. We rode on the beach and into the ocean, which was a fun experience. He took lots of great pictures for us and even shared some of his poetry with us. Overall, we had a blast and would recommend to nearly anyone.

I had always wanted to ride a horse on a beach in Barbados and thanks to Sam and Rico that dream came true! Sam picked us up from St. Lawrence gap, she was very chatty and friendly. We rode with Rico for 1.5 hrs through the beautiful countryside we saw monkeys, cattle, birds, mongoose, mice and very few people ! We rode down onto Bath beach which was basically deserted, Rico told us about the area and was a great tour guide, it was obvious that he loves his job and the horses, he was very warm and friendly. I would defo recommend this stables. None of us are very good riders, strictly holiday riders !!

We were picked up from our hotel on the West Coast and taken to the stables on the East Coast.
Great experience for my wife, who is an experienced rider and for me, a complete novice.
We got to ride through some wooded areas then along the beach, which was so different from the beaches on the West side.
Horses were nice and calm and obviously well looked after.
Whilst travelling there and back, and during the ride we were given loads of information regarding the plants and other facts on the island.
Great time Samantha 10 / 10

They were so well behaved and knew their jobs in taking care of their riders! Afterwards Bernardt brought us fresh juice and thanked us for visiting. It was truly a memorable experience. Thank you so much to everyone at Ocean Beach Echo for making our trek so special! We payed the $10 each way to be picked up from our hotel which was great because we got to know the owner. We took the hour and a half trek with Albert who was great, he was really interesting and educated us about the island and the plants. The trek took us through plantations and countryside and to Bath Beach where we rode through the breaking waves.
I'd highly recommend this day to all levels and ages, it was so much fun!

We (1 rider with basic skills and 1 novice) went for a 90 minute treck through the countryside and then along the beach. We saw different types of vegetation, barbadian allotments and beach houses, accompanied by a very knowledgeable guide and Tracker the dog (who made the trip extra special, dashing into the surf chasing birds and generally having a lovely time). We had a really interesting and enjoyable time and would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who'd like to see a different side of Barbados - the East Coast is just beautiful and a very pleasant change from being on the West Coast where our hotel was. The Owner was also really interesting to meet and at the end of our trip provided us with a fresh coconut which we drank through leaf staws, special!
