Your adventure to the beautiful Dominican countryside starts with a pick up at your hotel in La Romana, Bayahibe or Dominicus. We will drive you to our private ranch along panoramic vistas and charming pastel-colored cottages that flawlessly blend in with the lush vegetation of Bayahibe.

We will introduce you to horseback riding in Bayahibe's dense, tropical outskirts. We will gallop through sugarcane plantations and extraordinary paths, all leading towards stunning countryside panoramas of Bayahibe.. A wonderful experience for novice and seasoned horseback riders alike, but you may also skip the horseback riding part if you would like to.

Witness the traditional way the indigenous people produced sugarcane. Go inside an artisan sugarcane mill, and watch an accurate re-enactment of a colonial-era trapiche (wheel grinder) being pulled by oxen in order to extract the sugarcane juice from the crop. You will witness the sugarcane transforming from cane juice to molasses and vinasse, until becoming the finest Dominican rum.

This tour would not be complete without learning the art of cigar rolling from the master craftsmen himself. Perhaps the best mature, ripe tobacco has been harvested in this land, befitting only the finest cigar brands in the world which use them in their manufacturing process.

You will be treated to a traditional Dominican dish, known as “la bandera dominicana”. We will serve you tropical fruits, cocoa and freshly brewed coffee that we all grow on our ranch.

After lunch, we will visit a local school where you will learn more about the everyday life in the Dominican Republic. Our last stop will be at the Basilica La Altagracia, the most important church in the country.

At the en of the Bayahibe sightseeing excursion, chat with your guide and mingle with fellow travelers while we take you back to your hotel.
