Join us on a relaxing bicycle tour from the Colonial Zone to the Los Tres Ojos National Park where the famous limestone cave system is found. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours with several stops at points of interest. Our knowledgeable multilingual guides will explain the city's history, show you the hidden secrets and will share some cool stories along the way.
On our way to the national park, we will visit the famous lighthouse, called Faro a Colon, which contains the purported remains of Columbus. The monument is both a mausoleum and a museum showcasing objects including a boat from Cuba and Colombian jewelry.
Los Tres Ojos (which translates to The Three Eyes) consists of three humid caverns with dark blue lagoons connected by stalactite-filled passages. Upon entrance, a long stairway takes visitors down a narrow tunnel in the rock, and a cement path at the bottom leads through the caves. At the third ojo (lake), a small boat can be hired for RD$25 to visit a fourth, hidden lake, which is actually a gorgeous water pond beneath open sky, filled with fish.
This tour is a perfect combination of nature and history. It is perfect for families and anyone who is just looking for a fun ride.
