The tour starts with a pick up at your hotel 8:00 am and 11:15 am. We offer round trip transfer from all major hotels and guesthouses in the San Juan area and North Eastern Puerto Rico. In case you stay in a remote area where transfer is not available, you need to come to one of the listed hotels. Exact pick up time will be advised after reservation.
After the pick-ups, we will head towards the rain forest and take you on a sightseeing drive through 4 local towns before arriving to our first stop in Luquillo. Here we will pick up some fresh local fruit for the tour that is included in the price. You will also have the opportunity to purchase some delicious smoothies and fritters.
Once we reach El Yunque, you will sign waivers and get the equipment, and you can also use the restrooms before we start our amazing hike. El Yunque is the most biologically diverse forest, it hosts hundreds of plants and animals and some of them can only be found in Puerto Rico.
Following an amazing hike through natural trails, we will arrive to a hidden gem in the heart of the rain forest that is like a natural playground. Take a refreshing swim in the natural pool, slide down a natural water slide, rope swing into the river, and enjoy some cliff jumping as well!
Then we will hike back to the departure point of the rain forest and you will have the chance to rinse off, change your clothes, and use the restrooms before lunch. We will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with the flavors of the Puerto Rican cuisine (not included in the price).
When it is time for the second part of our tour, we will take you to Las Croabas Park, quickly sort the paperwork out and provide a Kayak 101 lesson along with safety briefing. Then we will paddle through a spectacular mangrove forest for about 30 minutes before arriving to Bio Bay where the magic begins.
The kayaks will create a swirl of light at every stroke and you will discover this natural phenomenon called bioluminescence. Your guide will tell you about this natural phenomenon, then you will have some free time to paddle around and enjoy the tranquility of the place.
Bio Bay is a perfect spot for stargazing as well. Admire the constellations to maximize the experience before heading back to Las Croabas where you can use the restrooms and enjoy light snacks.
At the end of the tour we will take you back to your hotel by 10:00 pm as part of the complementary round trip transfer.
