This was an excellent tour of the Western part of Curacao. The day was hot and humid, as all days seem to be in Curacao. But the comfortable school bus pickup was on time, with a very competent driver and a guide who was well versed in the history, culture, and geology of Curacao. I enjoyed each stop, though several stops were not suitable or long enough for snorkling. The rock cave by the pounding sea and the final stop at Playa Porta Mari (a crowded, but gorgeous beach and restaurant) were my favorites.
Be sure to bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen. My only suggestion for the tour is to have water in a large thermos with reusable cups, instead of giving out water in plastic bottles. That will give the tour guide an opportunity to talk about the importance of reducing plastic waste that goes into the sea.

We didn't have a lot of time on Curacao, but really wanted to try and hit all the major spots so we researched quite a few tours. This was the tour we selected and boy, are we glad we did. Great value for how many spots you hit!

This tour hit several of the top beaches and our tour guide (Jürgen & Bob) was nice & knowledgeable about different spots in town that we passed, so we even learned a few things!
These were the main spots we hit:
-Shete Boka, which gave nice views of the ocean on the other side of the island which is pretty much unswimmable. However, there is a spectacular underground cave - make sure you don't miss this!
-Playa Piskado, where you can snorkel with sea turtles. They swim right up to you, as the fisherman sit on the dock and throw fresh-caught fish that they are cleaning. Make sure you don't touch the turtles and leave a tip for the fisherman, as they will work with you to throw the fish directly in front of you so the sea turtles come right by your body and you can get pictures from the dock.
-Kenepa Beach was my highlight here, because of the electric blue water color. It was BEAUTIFUL! Snorkeling here is great too, especially right by the cliff and coral.
-Playa Forti, a quick stop where the brave stopped to make a 40-ft cliff jump. This was probably my second favorite activity. Not for the faint-hearted!
-Porto Marie was a nice beach, but a bit crowded. The best part of this beach was the pigs that roamed and went in the water and the lizards that ran around. I felt like I was on a nature show! :) There is a floating platform, which is a great spot to look back at the beach and soak in the sun or get an amazing photo if you have a waterproof phone pouch.

Overall, this was a GREAT experience & I would recommend it to anyone who has short amount of time on the island but want to experience a LOT within 1 day.

I wanted to give a Great Review for Irie Tour’s, All West Beach Hopping Tour. We got to see several beautiful beaches, snorkel with turtles and enjoyed some history about the island. We didn’t really get a close view of flamingos but this tour will not disappoint. The price was very reasonable as well.

By far the best tour we’ve had when visiting the Caribbean, we usually rent a car, or some kind of transportation and venture in the island on our own.
We knew we wanted to see the beaches, we actually spoke to a local as to where are the best beaches of the island. The West Side of the island has the best beaches….
The price of this tour was great and the time of it all was even better (6-7 hrs.) drinks and entrance fee to certain places is included.
On our way into town, we stopped at the Salt Lake at St. Willibrodus to see the Flamingo's.
First: National Park Shete Boka. We stayed for about 45 minutes which is enough to take pictures and see the cave…
Second: Playa Piscado/Playa Grandi we were able to snorkel for about 30 min, and what an amazing 30 min it was. I was able to swim with sea turtles which was something that I’ve been wanting to do.

Third: was Playa Forti we were there for about 10 min, we were a small group and no one jumped of the cliff. So more beautiful pictures.

Fourth: was Kenepa Beach, which is such a spectacular beach, we were there for an hour

Fifth: This was our last beach stop, which is Porto Marie Beach. We were there for about 2 hrs. and it was great for snorkeling and just lounging.

Our tour guide was Yrad and Eddy (sorry if I misspelled any names)

Will definitely go on their tour again

We visited Curacao during a cruise stop and chose Irie Tours All West Beach Hopping Tour based on the very good reviews. We were not disappointed! The tour departed on time and we were treated to a wonderful 6-hour adventure lead by our guide Eddy and driver Yrad, both of whom were very friendly, informative, and a lot of fun. The Irie Tour bus is an excellent way to explore the island and discover the many hidden gems of natural beauty. We greatly enjoyed this tour and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I arranged a group of 60 for the West Side Tour last month. It was my second time to do this tour and it was just as amazing the second time around! Bob was our driver one one of the buses (not sure of the other driver). They kept the rum punch, beer and water going all day. We enjoyed each and every stop and the amazing picture moments also. We left on time from the cruise port and also arrived back on time. I cannot say enough about Irie Tours!!! I will use them again and again on my visits to Curacao

We have just returned from a 23-day cruise on the Zaandam. I booked the All West Beach Hopping Tour in January...three months prior to the date that our cruise ship, Holland America Zaandam, was to be in Curacao (April 17). One month prior to our cruise, I contacted Irie again and confirmed our details.

Our ship docked at 8 am local time and we noticed an Irie bus picking up passengers around 8:20 in the parking lot adjacent to the ship. We were concerned that we were late but re-checked to see that our scheduled tour time was at 9:30 am. I'm not sure if the Irie bus was picking up passengers for the same tour we did or one of their other tours, but it seemed odd that we docked so early and our tour didn't begin until 9:30.

Our instructions said to meet at the big white tent at the terminal. When we got off the ship we realized that the tent was actually located next to where the Navigator of the Seas was docked and was a little bit of a walk for us. We arrived at the scheduled meeting place at 9:10 am and checked in with Eddy who said he would be our guide. He indicated that ourselves and one other couple from the Zaandam would be in a group with others from the Navigator of the Seas.

A few minutes later Eddy approached us to find out what time we needed to be back onboard. We told him 3:30 for a 4 pm sail away. He seemed very surprised but said the other couple from our ship had told him the same thing.

Apparently Irie thought our ship would be sailing later and on a similar schedule to the Navigator of the Seas. This turned out to be a problem.

The tour itself was enjoyable and we visited the planned stops as advertised, including an hour stop at one beach for swimming (our reason for booking.) Our last stop was to be at a different beach where we should have had time to swim and have lunch. Because the passengers from the Navigator did not have to be back as early, they were told they could spend 2 hours at the beach but we (from the Zaandam) would only have 25 minutes and they would be taking us back early.

I questioned Eddy as to why they didn’t have a tour that started earlier and he said they couldn’t because the Navigator didn’t dock until 9 am. He also said the Zaandam “always” stayed later and implied that the ship's time in port had changed. I told him that our scheduled time had been the same since we had booked over 6 months ago and asked why Irie hadn’t checked port schedules to see the correct times. Instead of apologizing, he just said it was an inconvenience to them since they had to make an extra 40-minute trip just to get us back on time.

So, in the end, our tour was cut short and there was not enough time to swim or have lunch at the last beach. Since this was billed as a “beach hopping tour”, I felt like we did not get what we paid for. No apology was made nor was our price adjusted for the shortened tour.

I’m sure that Irie has access to ship schedules well in advance or should maybe add a section to their online form to ask for ship times. It would have been so much better for them to either have an earlier tour for Zaandam passengers or for them to have said that this particular tour would not work with our schedule when I inquired about it originally.
    Response from supplier
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience with Irie Tours, we appreciate your feedback.

We do have access to the Curacao Ports Authority's Cruise schedule and we rely on their accuracy. We were indeed surprised when you said that the Zaandam's sailing was at 4.00 pm because on the Ports Authority's Cruise schedule is was scheduled for 6.00 pm. I will send you the link in an email so you can see (I can't attach it to this message).

We need a minimum amount of 16 people to do a tour, that is why we scheduled the tour to start at 9.30am which is 30 minutes later than the normal starting time and 30 minutes after the arrival of the Navigator of the seas. We had 14 people from the Navigator of the seas plus 4 from the Zaandam.

We're very sorry that you missed a portion of the last beach stop. Hopefully we will be back in Curacao so we can make it up to you.

While on a cruise stop on Curacao, we took the 6-hour All West Beach Hopping Tour with Irie Tours. The tour was as described (although slightly longer than 6 hours), with an additional 30-minute stop to snorkel with turtles. Although the bus—an old school bus with the windows removed—was a bit cramped, it was fun and added to the overall experience. Other tour companies in the ABC Islands also use these brightly colored buses.

For some people, this tour may seem a bit rushed. But for us, it was the best way to see a lot in just one day.

Took the 6 hour west beach tour on a school bus in late February. There were 16 of us on this trip and all but 4 were from our cruise ship. It’s been a long time since I rode to school in in a school bus and had my bus driver at that time drove like the Irie one did I probably would have enjoyed going to school more (at least getting to school would have been more fun!). All the windows have been removed so it was a quite pleasant ride - not stifling hot at all – “natural” air conditioning! It was clear that this was not the driver’s (Yrad) first day on the job as he showed remarkable skill in reversing lengthy distances since the bus was unable to turn around in some of the parking lots we entered.

The guide (Eddy) kept up an almost continuous tirade of historical information, facts, figures etc. but for those sitting anywhere further back from the first few rows this information was almost completely lost due to the overriding sound of the rushing wind, the rattling of the old bus as it charged along sometimes uneven pavement, and, on steep climbs the straining of the engine. Irie should invest in a better sound system so that more of its clients can take advantage of the information provided. I sat in the latter part of the bus and only caught rare snippets of what Eddy was saying. Too bad as I was interested in Curacao`s history. Other people I knew on the ship went with another tour company where they rode in an air-conditioned bus and heard every word their guide said.

The problem with this tour is that they cram too many sites into it. Yes we went to 3 beaches but really only had enough time to swim at one of them. The first one, where there are turtles, we only stopped for about 30 minutes. Not nearly enough time to get out, put our snorkling gear on and head out to see the turtles and then get back out – would have been much too rushed. The second beach was okay - stayed there about an hour. The last beach also had a restaurant where you could buy lunch, which we did. However, it is so busy that almost our entire time was spent sitting in the restaurant. I think they could do away with the stop where you get out to see waves crashing into the shoreline (a National park I believe). Not that impressive, unless you have never seen waves before.

If I were to return to Curacao I would not bother taking this tour again and I hesitate in recommending it to others, unless they made changes to the itinerary and the sound system.

My husband and I did this tour from a Celebrity cruise stop in early Dec. We had our own snorkeling gear and would recommend this tour for people who are interested in seeing the island and experience some of the sea life. Our best pictures are from this tour!!! Shete Boka was a hit and so was Kanepa and Porto Mari beach for snorkeling. For snorkeleres/ divers,a tip: at kenepa beach- when facing the ocean go to the left where the rocks are, travel along the rock formations and use your fins so the current doesn't sweep you away; for Porto Mari, rent a locker at the bar, facing the ocean, swim all the way where the little wooden pier is and then follow to the left (facing the beach). Just absolutely beautiful schools of fish everywhere!!!

This was one of the best tours we have taken in all the Caribbean Islands we have visited. Met them just a short distance from our cruise ship. They told us to wait until we returned to pay. We left at 9 AM and returned at 4 PM. Was a great value at $65 per person. Lots of beautiful scenery and enjoyed 4 beautiful beaches. Porto Marie Beach was our favorite. Snorkeling was GREAT. The open air bus was fun and you can have all the beer, soft drinks and water you want! Don't hesitate to take this trip - guides are terrific and making a reservation online was very simple.

The colourful buses were located close to the cruise pier. The waves pounding the shore in the National Park Shete Boka were awesome. Some people went swimming with turtles at a fisherman's pier, then on to Playa Forti where a few of the passengers jumped off the 40 ft. cliff. Kenepa Beach was next and a lovely spot for swimming or relaxing. Last stop was beautiful Playa Porto Marie where we could buy a delicious lunch right on a gorgeous beach. Everyone had a great day. I loved the first stop where got to get out and see the flamingoes in their natural habitat.

Eddy was a great tour guide and made sure that we all had a great time while learning many interesting things about Curacao throughout the tour. The beer (and other drinks) were great and cold the entire trip. The stops were sufficient with time and quantity of activities. We were going to jump off the big cliff but for my second consecutive time there I realized the value of my sanity a bit too much. :) But we did jump at a second beach (Playa Lagun), which was very fun. This was all part of the West Side Beach tour - going to the national park and a variety of beaches as you will see in the photos shared.

I highly recommend Irie Tours to anyone looking for something fun and/or educational to do in Curacao. they have a variety of tours and an amazing team that makes everything go so well. Whether you're staying on the island as we were or coming on a cruise ship I know you can feel confident with the entire Irie Tours team. Thank you for another great experience. See you next time!
