The tour starts with a pick up at your hotel in Puerto Plata and the surrounding villages. We will visit Cayo Arena, also known as Cayo Paraiso, a coral island off the coast of the Dominican Republic, during a full day trip from Puerto Plata.
The excursion to Cayo Arena from Puerto Plata starts with a bus drive in air conditioned vans through the Northern part of the the Dominican Republic. Enjoy a journey full of splendid landscapes and green mountains to Punta Rusia, a picturesque fishing village on the coast of Puerto Plata. Once you reach Punta Rusia, in La Isabela Bay, you will board a boat to take you to Cayo Arena.
During the boat tour we will admire the flora and fauna of the waterway through the mangrove forest of a national park. If you are lucky, you will see the famous mammal, the manatee, also known as the sea cow.
After 45-minutes enjoying this unforgettable ride we arrive at Cayo Arena. Take your time to snorkel and observe many species of fish of all colors, take pictures,enjoy a refreshing swim in crystal clear water, chat with fishermen who come to the island or relax in the beautiful white sand.
Delicious buffet lunch will be served in a shaded hut and you will have access to an open bar of beer, rum, soft drinks and water.
At the end of the tour to Cayo Arena, you may chat with your guide and mingle with your fellow travelers while we take you back to your hotel.
