The tour starts with a pick up at your hotel or cruise ship terminal between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. We offer round trip transfer from X, Y, Z. In case you stay in a remote area where transfer is not available, you need to come to the check in location or to one of the listed hotels on your own by 8:30 am. Our departure point is Ocean World Marina in Puerto Plata. Exact pick up time will be advised after reservation.
Board our comfortable boat and meet your friendly captain and crew who will provide a safety briefing, and show which fishing rod will be yours. Then we will set sail and start the deep sea fishing adventure. Our crew will set up your fishing gear and serve refreshments along with great fisherman’s stories.
The Atlantic Ocean can be rough during winter months for guests who suffer from motion sickness or do not have prior deep sea fishing experience. We advise to prepare by taking motion sickness medication 1 hour prior to participating in the excursion. If you do experience seasickness during the excursion your captain will give you the option to cut the trip short and return to shore earlier. Please note that if you do decide to cut the fishing trip short, you will not be provided with a refund.
We will spend 4 amazing hours fishing on the sea. Depending on the size and type of fish, bringing it in might take a while. A big blue marlin can take us on for more than an hour! However, most hotels and resorts do not allow you to bring fish into the hotel or their kitchen due to regulations and food and beverage laws. We can organize for you to eat the caught fish at a nearby restaurant upon request.
Also, please note that this tour departs from the Ocean World Marina that is a custom checkpoint in the Dominican Republic and you have to bring a valid ID, driver’s license, or passport.
We will return to Puerto Plata by 1:00 pm and drop you off at your hotel or cruise ship terminal between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm, if you are not from a remote area. Or take you to a nearby restaurant to eat the caught fish for lunch.
