A visit to the capital of the province of Samaná will plunge you into the local life and allow you to share memories with its inhabitants. Officially named Santa Barbara de Samaná, this city offers the chance to visit a small local market and two different churches as well as the opportunity to do some shopping.
Our experienced guides will explain you its history and the Dominican culture. As we walk along the “Avenida la Marina” we will see the “Pueblo Príncipe” a small shopping centre that was built as a typical and colorful Caribbean village.
A stroll along the sea promenade called “Malecón” will allow you to observe the iron bridge that connects the islets of the bay to the promontory of Samaná; this pedestrian bridge built in the 1970s became one of the city’s icons.
We will continue our excursion through the center to visit the government buildings and we will finish our tour with a stop to do your compulsory souvenir shopping.
