    We booked a round trip with the Great Bay Express about a month prior to our trip online. Directions to the marina were clear and going through customs was easy. On our way to St. Bart's we boarded a smaller boat and I definitely felt the waves from the moment we got out into the water. I didn't get sick but I was very close! On our way back we boarded a much larger boat and sat indoors with air conditioning, we were provided bottles of water and were able to watch tv. This return boat trip was so much smoother! I would definitely use Great Bay Express again as long as we could board the larger boat.

    Excellent trip to St. Barths by Great Bay Express. Enjoyed our trip over, despite the rough seas. Captain Shawn invited anyone who wished to come check out the view from the captain's area, which my husband gladly obliged when a bunch of passengers started getting seasick. Not sure if we're an anomaly or what, but both of us (and I am pregnant!) did not get sick. Highly recommend taking some meds if you need them, but to the multiple people who complained about the ride (including the guy who yelled at the captain because his wife was getting sick), you are on the OCEAN, going against the current. What do you expect?! There's no way to defy nature - take precautions if you need to.

    The vessel is clean, well handled by the captain and it's a smooth and comfortable ride. Passengers are handled in a courteous manner, the crew is informative and attentive and departures are on time. Never a worry whether it will go or when it will arrive.

    Pretty good service on our day trip to St. Barts. When we walked in a very help young woman was super helpful while the other woman there ate breakfast and ignored us until the first could get to us. Other than that it was a smooth transition through customs on a nice clean boat with comfortable seats that left on time. They got us there safely and got us back without many issues. Would absolutely recommend it.

    The ride over on the Shantiwa wasn't bad at all, but was a bit bumpy at times. I did not get sick, but one of my friends was a little green by the time we entered the smoother water around St. Barts. The ride home was on The Pride of St. Barth. It was a very smooth ride and seemed to be much faster than the ride over in the morning. Overall, I was very happy with the service. It is important to note that if you do not arrive early for check in (30-45 minutes) they will not allow you to board. Some people seem to have missed this detail. Also, you are going on a boat into open water. They crew can not control nature. Seems as though most of the bad reviews involve either a lack of reading or thinking the crew should control the weather.

    The lady with short hair is rude and unpolite. That the only thing that i can remember from that company. So i would advise you to board on the french side but make sure to call first.

    Perfect way to get to Saint Barths! THanks to the previous reviews, my husband and I showed up 2 hours early, and took nausea medicine in advance. The medicine helped tremendously. The high speed very ride there was horribly bumpy and you could easily get sea sick. I repeat, take the Dramamine before you go!! Coming back, the trip was a lot smoother and slower (but we arrived home in a shorter period of time). It would be nice to have more signs and directions telling you where to go to board the ferry. This would be helpful for tourists. Tourists, ask lots of questions, e.g., where should I wait. Is this the final spot? All in all, it was well worth the money and well worth the trip. Spring for the walking map. When you get to St. Barths, to the left of the arrival door there are a line of taxis. For about $90 bucks they will give you a tour of the island. totally worth it

    If you do this ferry crossing, take dramamine or whatever motion sickness pills you have. Guys do a great job of helping but they cant control the sea. They were really nice and helpful so much more so then other ferries out of st Thomas and st john (with exception of water island). Thx guys for taking care of the celebrity summit passengers.

    Let me preface by saying take seasick pills even if you normally don't get sick. This is a very rough ride even during normal seas. I get very sick and doubled up on my pills and still vomited. Now let me tell you how magnificent this crew is. There were a couple of us vomiting and they were very attentive to our needs! They helped every single one of us and were so professional during it all. Captain Sean is wonderful and has a great crew. I would absolutely use this company again in a heart beat. The cabin in the ferry was clean, the a/c was ice cold, tv's on and bottles of water for all! I will add that they take our safety very serious and the safety briefing was very thorough and informative. Highly recommend!

    We took the Pride of St. Barth ferry from St. Maarten to Gustavia. Great ride...very comfortable seats and friendly staff (and free water). Absolutely recommend.
