Description

Join us on our popular sunset horseback riding tour and discover Sint Maarten’s beautiful nature with our experienced guides! Ride a horse at the Seaside Nature Park up beautiful winding trails to a splendid lookout point overlooking the Caribbean Sea. We will roast marshmallows at a campfire creating the perfect ambiance for your tropical vacation.

Our stable is located in Cay Bay, 5 minutes away from Simpson Bay and 15 minutes away from the cruise ship terminal. Upon arrival to our farm, we will give you a short safety briefing, gear you up and introduce you to your horse.

Picture in your mind the setting sun as it lowers behind the horizon. Brilliant hues of red, orange, yellow and purple, just as you are riding along the coastline. You will certainly want to bring your camera! Peaceful and serene experience, excellent choice for a romantic outing, family excursion and for everyone looking for tranquility.

Do not forget your bathing suit, the highlight of the excursion is riding into the calm, crystal waters of the bay for a swim with your horse as the sun sets behind you over the Caribbean Sea! This is a truly unforgettable experience that will make your holiday a special one.

The horses are born and bred at Seaside Nature Park, we know them right from the moment they are born. Starting the stables many years ago, Roderick is well known for his eye for horses. He calls his line of horses “Antillianos”, a local horse, mixed from the Spanish, the South-American Paso and English thoroughbred influences that came to the island later. These horses are happy horses and they love what they are doing. If not working, all the horses roam the park freely at daytime.

A Beautiful Evening In Sint Maarten(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)Recommended
Reviewed by JEFFREY KILBERG on March 05, 2020
Every trip my wife and I take is always topped off by a horseback ride. Sint Maarten was no exception. We signed up for this trip and went to Lucky Stables in what they called a "nature center" it is more like a petting zoo, in fact it is a petting zoo. When you enter the preserve you do need to drive through the power plant. It is an odd entrance to say the least but wow, so well worth it. My wife and I chose to do the Sunset Champagne ride which was so wonderful. We rode for about 2 hours and stopped to toast the sunset with incredible views. We roasted marshmallows and posed for pictures. Our Guide was Hector who was patient. The horses were tame and calm. The the best part of the evening was riding the horses into the ocean and riding them while they swam. All and all one of the highlights of our stay in Sint Maarten.

We had a great time! Our guide was Danny and he was very helpful and informative during the tour. We have never rode before and the instructions were clear and easy and we didn't have any problems. Enjoyed the views from the campfire at dusk and riding along side the water. Excellent activity and worth every cent!
Response from supplier
Thank you Tashia for participating in our tour & review. I'll pass along your compliments to Danny as well.
We aim to please. Hope to see you back!

My wife and I went here on our honeymoon for a sunset horseback ride. It was great I have never been on a horse before and while going downhill in the dark on rocky slope was scary it was super enjoyable. It was just the two of us and our guide Jay was fantastic he enjoyed his job and it showed. Only downside was eating dinner with wet pants after going in the water on the horse but even that was 100% worth it.

Don't let the power plant next to it distract you. My daughters and I had the best time riding off into the sunset with a champagne toast and a final swim with our horses. My only regret was trying to hold a go pro and my camera and the reigns all at the same time..not a good idea! Daryll was very friendly and kept his focus on all of us to keep us safe and make it really enjoyable and memorable.

What an incredible experience. Walking up and down trails with a view of the ocean, marshmallow bonfire and riding the horses through the water. The staff was enthusiastic and accommodating.

My daughters went horseback riding. A first for my 7 year old. My 14 year old rode horses before. It was not the best day because rain came out of nowhere. When it eased up a bit they went out, but the rain was intermittent throughout the hour experience. The staff was very nice, and accommodating, since it was my daughter's first time. The 7 year old refused to go into the water, so they let her disembark before proceeding. You also receive a drink after riding. I would highly recommend and ask for Remi to be your leader.

We had so much fun, it was beautiful. The horses are very loved by the staff and they were so nice. Our guide Darrel was so awesome, and loves the horses dearly. I'm always apprehensive about doing attractions with animals because I worry about their welfare but I could definitely tell the animals are cared for here. Definitely recommend!

We opted for the Sunset avec Champagne Tour. That was the second time we ever rode the horses in our life, and it has been phenomenal. First of all, they only walk - so that's safe. But with truly steep ups and downs, you have to use all your skills to stay put - the thrill is definitely there. Combined with excellent explanations you are receiving from your friendly guide (who is performing acrobatic tricks at the same time) about what you see around, culture of the island, native medicine etc., you finally land on a hill where the guides set a bonfire and uncork bottles. Watch the sunset while meditating about life and universe... Then you swim with horses (we pulled others to the extremes where only their heads stayed upon the water. Fantastic!) A must-have experience on St. Marteen, definitely. Highly recommended.

What a great spot. We went on their Sunset Champagne Ride on Sunday evening. Don was our guide and Ashley gave us our set up instructions. They both were fabulous. The horse were well cared for and seemed to enjoy the ride as much as we did.

The highlight was the end of the ride when they take you in the deep water (if you want) and the horses swim with you on their backs!

I did a 2h sunset horseriding tour with this company. First of all, I have to say that I was the only guest on this tour which is probably rather designed for couples or families. And therefore I am happy they did the tour even for only 1 guest!
Of the tour I am a little bit disappointed, as the guide seemed to be quite unmotivated. He was short-spoken and hard to understand. We rode the paths on the hill a little to the southeast of the facility, which is a nice landscape, especially the view from the top to the east.
To the Northwest is a big powerplant. I saw it on satellite picture before, but it was even bigger and noisier than I expected. We watched a beautiful sunset from a good vantage point while I had the possibility to roast marshmallows and take the preordered drink. The promised swimming, for that I had changed to swimwear beforehand, was not done. Instead we only did some wading near the power plant.
To be honest I would recommend to try a different company on the island.

This place really caters to both people who have ridden before or just the first time. The horses are reined trained and know the roads and trails. We went for the sunset ride and had a nice bonfire built for us and a bottle of Champagne chilled and ready. Our guide shared information on the area and the history of St Martin. The final part of our ride is a ride into the ocean with the horses (they love to swim) so wear either shorts or a bathing suit as you are going to get wet

We spent one week in St. Maarten. One of the excursions our family was looking for was a horseback ride in the ocean. This was awesome! We chose the sunset ride which I would recommend. We met two fabulous people from San Diego who joined us. Jay was our guide. If you go on this trip request him for your guide. He is passionate about his job, his knowledge of the horses and their lineage is incredible, and his pleasant way with us made a wonderful trip unforgettable! Thanks Jay!
