Description

Meet Pieter, your captain on the dock behind Nowhere Special restaurant in Simpson Bay at 5:00 pm (exact check in time depends on season, +/- 30 mins). He will drive you to the trimaran in a dinghy and help you board the boat. After a quick introduction, find yourself the perfect seat and get ready for a 1.5-hour sunset sail along the coast of St. Maarten / St. Martin.


This tour takes maximum 12 people to make it an intimate experience. There will be ample space in the cockpit or on the trampolines to lounge, and you can enjoy the crew's outmost attention.


We will exit the Simpson Bay lagoon and sail along the mile long Simpson Bay beach and pass by the famous Maho Beach where we might be able to spot some large passengers planes landing (not guaranteed). Then we will continue the journey passing by the beautiful Mullet Bay and Long Bay where the islands most luxurious villas to be found! Find out from the captain which celebrities own the houses along the shore.


Treat yourself to some snacks as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from the open bar and mingle with the crew and your fellow passengers as you enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sunset. You are also welcome to help out the captain and learn some tricks about sailing throughout the journey.


We will return to our departure point after a 1.5-hour sail and your captain will take you back to shore by dinghy under the starlit sky.

    We sailed this week on a sunset sail our of Simpson Bay. The trip took us along the coastline of St. Maarten. The trip was beautiful and the drinks and food served on board was wonderful.
    The crew was very nice and worked hard to ensure that everyone had a great time.

    If you want to have just a nice 2 hour cruise at sunset, this is the one for you.

    My wife and I took the sunset sail this evening with Pieter and Miriam. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They are wonderful hosts and delivered 100% on all of our expectations. They had a great choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. There was a good variety of snacks served throughout the evening. The boat was clean and well maintained. An excellent way to spend the evening with someone special. We will definitely do this again!

    Last night my husband and I took a wonderful sunset cruise. The captain and crew were very friendly and very much involved in the sail. The captain was very informative about St. Maarten. The drinks, champagne and rum punch, as well as snacks, were plentiful and delicious!!!

    After 7 nights in the Caribbean (three on Saba, three on Statia and one in St. Maarten), we took this sunset cruise to close out our honeymoon and it was really perfect. Not over the top or overly structured, we met some wonderful people, had some tasty snacks and a few drinks to watch the sun set on our trip.

    Miriam, Peter and Jelle were all so kind, accommodating and helpful, and if you are looking for a low key sail to unwind and relax, this is the perfect, uncrowded way to do it.

    Great hosts, perfect boat! This is a very very nice sailing experience in a perfect setting while enjoying a rum punch. I only did the the sunset sail but will surely come back for a day sail. I live on St Maarten and will make sure that anyone that visits me will be onboard no1sxm at least once during their trip!

    We were so sad to learn of the loss to IRMA of the beautiful schooner Passaat but were thrilled to experience its replacement, SxM No.1, the delightful trimaran. The sunset sail was to get to know her; the 5 hour day time cruise sealed the deal. Piet and Miriam, good for you and "Grover". Absolutely a lovely experience, with only natural (!) musi: wind, water & sail. The highlight of our trip. We wish you the best and God speed and hope we can do it again some time. We're also recommending this to friends who hope to go there soon.

    We booked the sunset sail based on the fact that they onyl have a maximum of 12 people, so it’s no loud music and lots of people. Our on sail there was 4 of us. Pieter and Miriam were great hosts.
    We’d didn’t have a sunset but they couldn’t control that. They made us feel comfortable and pointed out things about the area.

    Sunset cruise was fabulous!! The Captain,Pieter has been sailing for 40 years and you can see how much he enjoys it. His partner and first mate Mirian is extremely personable and makes a wicked rum punch and snacks (included).Reaching 9 knots was exhilarating. I highly recommend this trip!!

    We really enjoyed our St. Maarten sunset sail on No1Sxm. This was our first trip on Miriam and Peter’s trimaran and it was a wonderful sail and great scenery. Drinks and appetizers added to the enjoyment of the sail.
