Description

This 6-hour St. Maarten excursion with stops at the best locations around the island will give you a sample of everything this Caribbean gem has to offer. During this trip, you will see Simpson Bay Lagoon, Tintamarre, Pinel Island, Creole Rock, Grand Case, Long Bay and the planes landing at Maho Beach. The experienced captains and crew, first class snorkel gear and open bar will make your day brilliant!

You can check-in at 9:00 am at our office in Cole Bay or enjoy a complimentary pick up at your hotel. Exact pick up time will be advised after reservation. Cruise ship guests will be picked up close to the cruise ship terminal.

Once everybody is on board, we will cruise through Simpson Bay Lagoon, the largest lagoon in the Caribbean that hosts many multi million dollar mega yachts such as the Limitless owned by Victoria's Secret, and you will also see the French Governor's family home.

We will exit the lagoon to Marigot, the capital of French St. Maarten, then follow the coastline all the way out into the sea arriving at our first stop Tintamarre Island, home of the turtles. We will have a hearty picnic lunch here with vegetarian options. After lunch, you can take enviable photos, see the historical slave walls and take a walk along the unspoiled gold sand shore.

After our satisfying lunch, we will set out to the magical Pinel Island. Stroll along its stunning sandbar beach, chill out in the crystal clear shallow water, visit the iguana farm or have a fancy cocktail at a beach bar.

Once everyone is back on board, we head over to Creole Rock, which is a rock formation in the middle of the French Nature Reserve with loads of fish and coral. It is one of the finest snorkeling destinations in the Caribbean thanks to its vivid wildlife and crystal clear water.

Then we continue our journey towards Long Bay where the island's only really luxurious hotel is located, frequently visited by the biggest Hollywood superstars. The most expensive villa on the island owned by Donald Trump can be found here too.

Of course on the way back we will pass by the world famous Maho Beach where we might be lucky to see the giant passenger planes landing over our heads. Please note that we cannot guarantee to see large passenger planes.

We return to the cruise ship terminal by 3:30 pm and say farewell to our cruise ship guests, then return our hotel guests around 4:00 pm.

Malik and Don were awesome! We didn’t see as much underwater life as we wanted, but we were so happy with the tour. The boat ride was smooth, we saw the whole island and got the most beautiful photos. Lunch and the rum punch provided were super good too! So happy we took the tour early in our trip because Malik and Don had so much info and recommendations to share that made the rest of our stay even better!

These guys were on point. Took us to several bays and beaches- even with bad weather were able to find us some great snorkeling. Constantly served us drinks, food, and felt all 4 kids on the boat were safe at all times in their hands.
Small group setting made us feel like VIPs. All 6 of the people in our party agreed we'd do this excursion again in a heartbeat.
Great value.

The Snorkeling and Discovery tour around St. Maarten was great fun. It started out in Simpson Bay and we toured the island stopping off at various spots along the way to snorkel or just swim. The crew was very informative pointing out historical sites, beaches and geological formations as well as homes of the rich and famous. We stopped in Marigot on the French side of the island for lunch. The crew had arranged for us to eat at Lolo's for some of the best barbecue I have ever had. Even if you do not go on the snorkeling tour do yourself a favor and go to Lolo's. The tour is great for families!

Did a full day snorkel with our family (9yo and 7yo) and another family of 5. They did a great job of communicating from the beginning. We contacted them 2 months after the hurricanes since our cruise itinerary changed and would now be at St. Marten. They were great, despite all of their obstacles after the hurricane. They wanted to make sure how comfortable our kids would be in the water as well as having them in the boat. They picked us up on time from the ship and took us to the marina. We had a great time on the boat. They constantly made sure that we and the kids were comfortable. They gave us info about the island and what has been happening since the hurricane. Went to Creole rock which was great. Lots of fish within an arms reach. It was interesting to see the dead coral on the bottom and the new growth happening since the hurricane. We then went to another place for turtles, but they were elusive and never saw them. Traveled to a secluded private beach where we saw huge iguanas, played in the water and had a great picnic lunch on the beach. The guys were attentive and informative. We had a great time and highly recommend. Thanks Again!

My husband and I had an amazing time on this excursion after our original tour was cancelled. Craig and Damia were the most excellent hosts and knowledgeable guides. Our tour group was unusually small (less than 10 people total), which made for a more personalized experience. Our day aboard the power boat included various stops for cool Caribbean dips, delicious snacks including pineapple/strawberry skewers, plenty of water to stay hydrated, and a mix of 70's & 80's rock music to sing along to! There were great snorkeling stops at Creole Rock and Tintamarre Island with the green sea turtles. After snorkeling, we were offered more variety of drinks, including rum punch and cold beer! Our final stop before heading back to the marina in Simpson Bay was Yellow Beach on Pinel Island for a picnic lunch and more fun in the sand and sea. Thank you, Coconut Reef, for making our visit in St Maarten a memorable one and for sharing with us places we could've only experienced by boat!

My two adult (20 and 19) children and myself went on our first cruise and this was the highlight of the entire week... This tour truly has something for everyone; regardless of age, or preferences when going on excursions, The guide had extensive knowledge of the island which was great for both sightseeing as well as learning about the area. The snorkeling was great and I even enjoyed hanging on the boat talking to the guides when I sat a round out. Our favorite part was having lunch on the island coupled with cocktails at the Tiki hut. If you go to St Maarten and don't do this tour, then you are certainly missing out!

My husband proposed to me in April 2017 on Coconut Reef's sunset cruise, which was the memory of a lifetime. A tour of the island paired with wine, champagne, cheese, meat, and a stunning sunset. Oh, and did I mention a proposal? It was an unforgettable experience guided by Damian and Craig.

3 days later we were lucky enough to do the full-day snorkelling excursion, which was just as unforgettable! So much so, we decided to do the snorkelling excursion again on our November 2018 trip. This trip was guided by Damian and Mac, who truly make the trip so engaging, yet relaxing. They share stories and history about the island, are super attentive with refilling drinks, and are very accommodating to the needs of the guests. Snorkelling stops along the way includes Creole Rock, Tintemare, Pinel Island, etc. Each stop you are able to do as much snorkelling as you'd like, or you can hang out on the boat, have some drinks and enjoy the sun. Lunch is provided, and it was delicious both times.

I have to say, I was never much of a fan of swimming prior to my trips to St. Martin, however, these trips with Coconut Reef really ignited a new passion in me. Also- Craig and Sheryl always have the BEST dining suggestions. If you are looking for any dinner reccommendations, ask them! They have never steered us wrong. They are wonderful people and so knowledgeable about the island.

Love these guys! We have done this twice now, and will do it again. You get picked up at a good location for your ship. Nice fast boat, plenty of room. Small, and personal too. Super nice very professional people that are there to serve you. We hit 4 areas for snorkeling, the best spots on the island. We saw amazing coral reefs and fish, lots of other ocean life. We went to an island well of the coast with terrific views, huge turtles, rays, and other cool aquatic life, then last to Pinel Island, which is about as close to paradise as I have seen. Thinking you have to do a cruise sanctioned excursion? Fool! No, you don't, this is MUCH better, i have done it all. This is FAR superior. Just book it and have the time of your life. They are super trustworthy, and you will NOT regret it!

My trip was very well organized with an amazing crew led by Mack & Damien (Macadamia). They were knowledgeable and had plenty of information about the islands. They were so much fun and answered any questions all of us had. We snorkeled in three spots and had a chance to see amazing wildlife. They had great food on board and Sheryl made an amazing rum punch that no one could stop drinking. Also, Craig traveled with us and this essentially gave us three guides to talk about the islands. Overall, the entire group became friendly over the course of the trip and we even met for dinner. That is how comfortable we felt with each other by the end of the trip. So, big thank you to Mack, Damien, Sheryl and Craig. I would definitely do this trip again next time I am here in St.Maarten. Wish you guys the best!

A visit to St. Maarten is not complete without a day spent snorkeling and touring this beautiful island with Coconut Reef.
This was the absolute highlight of our trip. We were 3 adults and a 12 year who says this was the "best thing" she has ever done. We loved this day as well.
Damien our very experienced captain took around the entire island, providing interesting history of the island while we enjoyed the beautiful water and sunshine. And of course, our snorkeling stops with first mate Tonya's assistance allowed us to take in the underwater beauty of coral, fish and giant sea turtles.

If ANYONE goes to Sint Maarten, this is a must. Our captain and ship mate, Mac, were the most accommodating tour guides I have ever met. Super nice, knowledgeable, and literally did everything to make our tour perfect. Mac actually swam out to the first snorkel spot to make sure we saw all it had to offer. They had snacks, drinks, and a great lunch. I can’t say it enough, it was the highlight of our vacation. I am so impressed and thankful we found this tour! Also- no stress if coming from a cruise. Found this while looking for things to do on our cruise stop. What an awesome find! My wife was a little hesitant to do this since it was not going to be through our cruise ship but was convinced after she found out that she may get to swim with sea turtles.
We went to multiple snorkeling and beach stops and ended at Maho Beach where we saw the airplanes land and fly away. Our captain took us to excellent snorkeling locations and showed us why Creole rock was named, I saw no other boats go over to that side of the rock to see how it came to be named, the others just stayed on the side where the snorkeling was. We went to the uninhabited tintamerre island and were fortunate enough to spot a few sea turtles and swam with them and nearly within an arm's reach of one. This made my wife's whole vacation!
All inclusive expedition! Food, snacks, drinks (beer, rum punch, water, soda), and equipment were all included for the trip for a very reasonable price.
Make sure you are aware of what you are getting into with this trip. You are in a boat that will be in the ocean. If you get motion sickness you may want to take something beforehand. You will need to be able to climb in a boat on a ladder once you get in the water for snorkeling. My wife and I had no issues with this, but there were some others on the trip had a little trouble.
We had a great time and would do this again!

What I liked most about this excursion was that the crew were flexible with our time and that there were only 6 paying passengers on the boat! We wanted to take a dip at Mullet Bay, sure! Can we stay and watch planes fly over Maho Bay, sure!

We motored over to two islands and saw/swam/snorkeled near several beaches and had a great day - BRING LOTS OF SUNSCREEN!!

Snorkeling at Creole Rock - purportedly the best on the island was okay - not anyone's fault it was rough out there or that we've snorkeled in better places.

Pinel Island - great to see wild Iguanas and to hang out in the shallow waters.

Tintamarre Island - my favorite because we did see a few sea turtles and the beach was beautiful/deserted.

I would highly recommend taking this tour when you first get to the island because the crew (Damien and Mack) give good narratives/stories/hurricane updates about the beaches and houses we saw as well as good suggestions for restaurants.
