This 3.5-hour guided Jeep tour of St. Maarten is available for both cruise ship passengers and hotel guests but they check-in at different locations.
Cruise ship passengers: You can walk over to our office from the cruise ship terminal or request round trip transfer for $5 per person. In that case, you will check-in for your St. Maarten ATV shore excursion inside the cruise ship terminal. Exact directions will be found on your voucher. In case your cruise ship docks late, we will open a tour for you at 11:00 am. (only if the ship itself is late and not when you are late to leave the cruise ship).
Hotel guests: You will check-in for your St. Maarten ATV excursion at our office on Front Street in Philipsburg. Exact directions will be found on your voucher. Round trip transfer is available from certain Dutch side hotels for $5-10 per person.
Your friendly guides will welcome you and give you a safety and operational briefing on the Jeeps. Those who did not book a private Jeep will be mix and matched with other travelers. Once you are comfortable with your vehicle, the half-day St. Maarten 4x4 safari begins.
We will drive through the capital of the Dutch side, Philipsburg all the way up to the hill for our first stop. You will get to take beautiful panoramic shots while your guide explains a little bit of the island's history.
Continuing our Jeep tour, we will pass through Cole Bay and Simpson Bay, the busy neighborhoods of the island with many bars and restaurants. We will pass by the Princess Juliana International Airport before arriving to the world famous Maho Beach. We will linger around for a while to spot the landing planes. Please note that we cannot guarantee to see large passenger planes. You will have 10-15 minutes to take a quick dip in the sea.
After passing through the golf course at Maho we will cross the border between the Dutch and French side. The sightseeing Jeep excursion will take you through the lowlands of St. Martin where the most luxurious private villas to be found. We will arrive to Marigot where we will park our Jeeps and explore Fort St. Louis overlooking the marina and creole market. You will learn more about the island and how it has recovered after the destruction of Hurricane Irma.
The St. Martin Jeep tour will lead you through Grand Case, the restaurant capital of the Caribbean, all the way to one of the most beautiful beaches of St. Maarten / St. Martin, the famous Orient Beach. This mile long stretch of white powdery sand is a popular beach for water activities, and it is also known for its clothing optional section. You will have 10-15 minutes for a quick swim.
On our way to Oyster Pond, we will stop at a spectacular look out point in the rugged countryside. This place is also home to a lot of friendly iguanas which you can feed or pet.
We will start our final part of our guided Jeep excursion of St. Maarten and drive back towards Philipsburg stopping at one more look out point along the way. We will finish our full island tour of St. Maarten / St. Martin around 1:00 pm in Philipsburg. We will give you one hour to enjoy the beautiful white sand beach of Great Bay before returning you to the cruise ship terminal by shuttle bus.
You can also choose to stay and walk around on the shopping street or have lunch. When it is time to board your ship, you can either take the inexpensive water taxi from downtown or walk back to the terminal in about 15-20 minutes.
Cruise ship passengers: After disembarking the ship, walk to the Tourist Info Center near the Claude Wathey statue and ask for Bobbi of Blue Bubbles. The attendant will direct you to the EDC parking to meet your Blue Bubbles representative. Our shuttle costs $5 per person payable in cash upon check in. You can also walk over to our office which is about 25 minutes from the cruise ship terminal.
Hotel guests: Office address is 153 Front Street, in between the Sea Palace Hotel and the Walter Plantz Square & Fountains. There is free parking on the salt pond side. Local bus also runs through this neighborhood. Round trip transfer is available from certain Dutch side hotels for $5-10 per person payable in cash.
