First, everyone on the staff is highly professional and friendly. We went on a slow day with only one cruise ship in the harbor. The staff told me when multiple ships were in port that the place is crazy busy. As I recall, it was expensive. Two "chairs only" and two "flying dutchman" came to $300. The view at the top is breath-taking. On one side you are looking right down the runway of the airport and the other side looks over Phillipsburg. The bartender at the top makes great rum punches-I didn't want to come down. The Flying Dutchman was fun but no life changing. I would only recommend this activity if the lines are not too long.

I visited Rainforest Adventures in Sint Marteen in January 2019 and loved it
I have already done several zip lines, and this one is in my top 3.

We have chosen The Flying Dutchman for two things. The first one: it’s The World's Steepest and the second: The view at the top of the mountain.
For gown up the mountain, you need to take a cable cars. It’s perfect to admirer the landscape during a couple of minute. Once at the top, you can enjoy full 360 views of the island. Take the time to relax before the zipline. You have a guy who play live music and a bartender, it’s perfect.

For me it’s the one of the most views in the Sint maarten! Imagine the landscape at 1,050 feet, you can see the fifty shades of blue, Phillipsburg and the Airport. It’s also a best picture spot to take some memories pictures.
Just before the ride, the staff adjust your seat, and give you some instruction. The sensation just before is amazing, mix of adrenaline and scare.

You need to keep your eyes open during the Flying Dutchman because the view is beautiful.
It was AMAZING! Words can't express how great my experience was!!!!

We came in on a cruise ship and rented a car from coastal car rental at the cruise port. Quick easy drive to the Rainforest Adventure, hard to get lost when you can see the top of the mountain and the chairlift from the car. We were the first to arrive and the first to get on the chairlift which the ride up was fun and could see for miles! What we found out was that the order you get off of the chair lift is the order you get to go down the flying Dutchman. Since we were first off the lift we were given tickets saying 1 on them. Me being scared of heights and getting a little antsy about actually going down after seeing how steep the drop is going down did not want to go first! Plus we wanted to try to spend some time at the top taking pictures and enjoying the view before being herded like cattle back down to the bottom. We found 2 younger guys who were willing to trade group 1 with us for group 2 which at least allowed me to see that even though the drop off for the zip line is steep the actual ride itself doesn't start off that fast. Over all the experience was good and we had a blast. I think we were there for less than an hour. I can see this place becoming a major money maker for tourism in St. Maarten. We enjoyed the rest of the day driving around the island stopping at various beaches. It was a good day.

My wife and I took our two kids to ride this beast, as we were there on the Oasis of the Seas and had read about The Flying Dutchman. Note that this was not a Royal Caribbean shore excursion, we took a taxi to the site on our own.

When they say "the steepest zipline in North America" you can believe it! We rode up to the top on a quad ski lift type chair, and arrived at the top in just a few minutes. As others have pointed out, nearly the entire Dutch side of the island is visible from the top and the day we were there, the visibility was excellent.

The staff are good, and they make sure that you are firmly strapped in before they launch you down the hill.

The initial sense of "oh my god this is steep" is quickly overcome by the speed of the descent and the the awesome views of the island.

The stopping apparatus brings you to a slow but firm stop safely.

Not an inexpensive thing to do, but a lot of fun !

My 21 year old son and ! decided to leave the beach for a day to have an adventure and we sure did! we did the Flying Dutchman, which includes the chair lift to the top. The staff were all so courteous from the moment we arrived. The chair lift to the top offers amazing views - you can see almost the entire island from the top. The view from the Flying Dutchman ride might take your breath away a little bit - I admit I was nervous when they buckled me in, but I did feel very secure. The ride starts out pretty fast, but then slows down and you can enjoy the feeling of flying through the air and looking over the harbor. After do our sip line ride, we had a light lunch in the restaurant (chicken quesadilla and drinks - very good and reasonable for a tourist destination) and then took the chair lift up a second time, so we could take more photos and enjoy the views on the way down. we spent about 3 hours on site and it was a highlight of the trip for us. I recommend this to everyone that visits and will definitely do it again!

We did the Flying Dutchman Zip Line while on a stop at St. Maarten on a Norwegian cruise. We rode the chairlift to the top and enjoyed the views during the ascent. Once at the top, we were delayed a while due to high winds and rain. This was okay with us as we enjoyed seeing the rain work its way over and through the mountains of the island. The views from the observation decks were fantastic. Once the weather settled down it was time to zip line.

This was our first zip line adventure and I don't believe it is a "traditional" zip line as it is very steep and fast. We had a great ride and great time. There is liquid courage available at the bottom of the chair lift at a restaurant and at the bar on the observation decks.

There is also a small museum on the grounds that explains plantation life on the island of St. Maarten and the history of the island.

This was so much fun. The experience started out a little rocky, as we arrived at the park at 9:30 and did not know until we got there it opened at 11:00. The schedule varied day by day so if you have the opportunity to check their calendar prior to booking you won't get there too early. That being said, it was still a great time. The main zip line is 1000 feet up, 2800 feet long and you go around 60mph. So much fun. There are also 4 other zip lines in the canopy. They were just as much fun. It rained the day we were there and the clouds were so low it was difficult to see, but we went anyway and wow! definitely something to do if you like to zip line.
