Description

This is a relaxed sunset sail. If you are looking for a party sunset cruise, book this sunset catamaran excursion instead.


Sail in Aruba on the only lounge boat on the island! Each relaxed seat has a view of the sea. Relax in comfortable cushions or on our lounge sofa. As you watch the sun melt into the horizon in a burst of multi-hued colors, sip on a delicious Octopus Cocktail, the ship’s spin on the famous Aruba Aribaand signature drink. Throughout the tour you will be treated to an open cocktail bar of unlimited sodas, fruit juices, rum punches and more. Enjoy the fresh fruits and snacks as well as fresh baked bread.


There’s something special about watching the sun set from the ocean. Add to that Aruba’s spectacular coastline and unique views of the California Lighthouse and you’ve got the perfect way to wind down your day. Make sure to have your camera ready to capture an unusual view of the landmark California Lighthouse, named after the steamship California who was wrecked nearby in 1891.

    Check-in location
    Our office is located in Palm Beach, close to the Holiday Inn resort. Walk through the entrance of Holiday Inn and continue to walk through its garden until you reach the beach area. Upon reaching the beach, please make left on the footpath and walk about 10 meters (33 feet) and you will reach the beach hut for Octopus Aruba, where you will see representatives dressed in orange shorts and white polo shirts.

    We had an easy time getting to the catamaran sail because we left the cruise port. The bus system in Aruba is perfect. Jump on the #10 bus from the cruise port and it will take you to the catamaran adventure. This company had our information and booking and was lots of fun. We did have a slight misshap, that only added adventure to this cruise. The mast broke during our cruise! The crew was very anxious to let us know this wasn't a problem. They solved all of our worries. We continued on with a wonderful sunset night. Very accommodating and lots of fun. I highly recommend this tour!

    We had a great time on this sunset tour. The Captain and his crew were overly friendly and made sure everyone had a great time. Just beware of the separately run scheduling as they will sell you alcohol that is already included in the price. Skip the beer they try to sell you and drink the included beverages instead. They will send you a misleading email trying to sell you what you don't need.

    Thank you for your review and 4 stars, we are very happy with this. As mentioned in the description we do have an open cocktail bar. This means that beer / wine and champagne is not included in the price. Champagne is only included with our Champagne Brunch trip. The reason why we do not offer these drinks as standard is because the prices for these drinks are very high on Aruba. If we want to offer these drinks inclusive, then we are unfortunately forced to increase our prices. We have chosen not to do this. If our guests still want beer / wine or champagne, they can order this from us at an additional cost. We are definitely not out to mislead our guests and we apologize that we have given you that feeling. We do this as an extra service to our guests as some guests prefer to drink wine or beer instead of a cocktail.

    We went on the sunset sail on our last night of the trip. When I asked my husband what his favorite part of our vacation was, he said the sunset sail and I definitely agreed! The people working on the boat made it an amazing experience. One even did magic tricks that completely baffled us. I hope to go again when we go back to Aruba someday!

    We did the sunset cruise. It was very nice and very relaxing. The crew was great and very friendly. The food wasnt the greatest, and the young lady making the drinks had a tough time with the orders but the experience made up for all of that. It was truly amazing watching the sunset from this beautiful vessel, will definitely do this again.

    My husband & I really enjoyed the sunset sail last week. It was very relaxing! Sebastian and Roger (sp?) were wonderful hosts! I would definitely recommend and do this again. I only wish there was wine available (rosé!!). I would pay more to be able to have wine on this sail. Maybe I will BYO next time :-)

    We keep coming back to the Octopus! Its a small intimate boat that maxes out at 35 people. We had about 16 on our tour; the crew is so friendly & informative. They make you feel so comfortable. Can't wait to book again

    We were three couples looking for a relaxing cruise to enjoy the beautiful sunset in Aruba... and that is exactly what we got (and more!!) with Octopus Sailing Charters. Jethro and the crew were friendly and accomodating, the boat was clean and comfortable, the food and drinks readily available and tasty. Diana was always smiling and happy to bring another sandwich or drink and take a group picture. It was great to see the beautiful beach from the water. We also had a kiteboarder literally fly over our boat! An added bonus! Anyone in our group would be happy to recommend this sunset sail to others!!

    Fabulous experience with Octopus Sailing Charter. Would choose them again and highly recommend! Relaxing sail, tasty snacks, little sandwiches and rum punch among other choices. Our host Roche was very friendly.
    A+ for integrity ( the two bad reviews don't make sense to me). This was the last night of our vacation and it was July the 4th. Evidently they had some cancellations ( sadly my husband was one of them due to illness) and there were only four of us that showed up for the charter for the sunset cruise. It was wonderful, like having a private charter! These two gentlemen could have easily enjoyed an evening at home and cancelled. I am certain the money paid by the four of us did not cover expenses and pay adequately for their time. I truly appreciate a company like this with the integrity to consider others. If I get back to Aruba I would choose them again for any of my sailing excursions.

    Went with my parents and brother (group of 13 consisting from children of 4 up to 84 years old). My mother is 83 and with very little mobility, crew was very helpful and patient with her. In this trip you can see the difference between and employee only crew and one that gets the owners involved. Very very nice experience, and would totally recommend it to any one.

    We did the Sunset Sail on our last night in Aruba. It was a great way to end a fantastic Trip! The sail boat is very comfortable and Spacious. They do not overly pack it like other boats. Snacks and Drinks are served along the way and the sunset is amazing! Total trip was about 2 hours (5-7pm).

    We have been going on the Sunset Sail every year for 34 years. We obviously enjoy this event. Most relaxing and enjoyable every time. The crew is friendly and welcoming. Great sunset or not.....still worth the 2 hours to sail up and down the coast seeing the island from the water. Jethro is the BEST captain ever.     We are happy to report that we attended the sunset sail last week with the Octopus crew. My wife and I attended Aruba for our honeymoon and picked the sunset sail with Octopus based off TripAdvisor recommendations. Unfortunately it rained...yes rained for the second half of the cruise! With that being said the guys were awesome and unfortunately they can’t control the weather. We enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend this anyone looking to get out on the water. You also can’t beat the price, incredibly reasonable. I hope these guys do well as its owner operated.

    Smaller boat not crowded with music on in the background so could relax and enjoy the views of the beach and sunset. Crew was great and attentive and if you wanted your cup would never go empty, sandwiches and other finger foods were offered as well. Even though it is a smaller boat there is room to walk around if you like or just find a spot and enjoy.
