Our guide had a challenge with the quality of those who registered for the biking mountain activity at this ranch. Some should have never been on a bike to begin with. The quality of the bikes were fair, and the helmets did not smell so that is a plus. The easy course consisted of mostly dirt roads, the more challenging part that a few of us took was on some steep single track trails with abundant thorn sections. The result of our bike - one member of our party got lost not following directions. I was torn up - arms and legs rather badly from thorns avoiding potential fall areas. None of our party did the complete course as our guide had to go back to look for the lost biker. We ended up getting our party together - minus one, and driving to a lighthouse to find our missing cyclist there.

This was an awesome time and a very challenging mountain biking course. Geert was fantastic and very knowledgeable; he provided good mountain biking coaching along the way especially as the terrain is very different in Aruba than the east coast US.

The bikes and helmets are good quality. Bring biking clothing if you have it. Definitely bring sunglasses and sunscreen as there is no shade. I'd definitely do it again.

While in Aruba, both my son (14) and I (both experienced riders) rented nice Trek 29r mountain bikes courtesy of Rancho Notorious and spent a morning riding the north tip of the island with our Guide. Our Guide, Geert Herbots, is a certified coach who did a great job leading the ride as well as giving a few technique pointers for riding the rocky and sometimes sandy terrain of Aruba.
If you enjoy single track and know how to handle a mountain bike. there is some great terrain in Aruba, and definitely some hills. If your skill level is a little less, be sure to let them know in advance so they can tailor to your needs. At the end of the ride there is the opportunity to relax and enjoy some beverages (at a cost ) if you choose

As a 72 yr old I was a little hesitant to bike with my 35 yr old son and his girlfriend but Geert set a pace which we were all able to keep up and the tour which lasted 3-3.5 hours showed us a variety of landmarks and scenery which was spectacular at times. The equipment was good quality and well maintained and disc brakes provided great stopping power in the downhill sections.
The tour departed at 8.30 AM and it was getting quite hot when we finished at noon so I would recommend an early start to avoid the noon/afternoon temperatures.
I have no difficulty in rating this tour as 5 star and will go back when I am next in Aruba on vacation.

My wife and I booked this for a day of exercise and fun while cruising. The guide picked us up at the designated meeting place and took us to the ranch.

There we were presented with two mountain bikes that were in excellent condition. They were newer bikes with disc brakes. We were also provided with water bottles that had been washed in the dishwasher and filled with chilled water.

The guide reviewed our biking experience and skill levels. We then went on a fun 12 mile bike ride. We stopped a number of times along the way were he gave us information about the island. I'm a road biker but it was great fun riding on the fairly easy sandy/dirt trails with mostly just smaller rocks and bumps. (I'm sure that he adapted the ride to our skill levels).

I would highly recommend this to anybody who likes riding bicycles.

Our only negative was the description of where to meet the guide for the ride to the ranch. The description referred to a "Valero" gas station. It has been changed to a Citgo gas station. But a quick phone call to the ranch verified that it was the right place. (we have T-mobile and calls were cheap/free on our regular plan). The meeting place is only about a 1/4 mile walk from the cruise ship terminal and it was obviously the only gas station close by.

This was a great trip! We've never mountain biked, but are road bikers. Geerd was helpful and very experienced. I now want to Mtn bike more.
The scenery was beautiful. Though it was hot, I was very thankful for the breeze.
Would do this excursion again!

Aruba is an amazing place no matter what, but being able to see via mountain bike with Geert and Rancho Notorious was the high light for me. Geert is a terrific person who knew exactly what I was looking for in a mountain bike adventure. The bike I used was fantastic, the trails were amazing and the entire experience was 5 STAR!!!!!

We scheduled this tour while we were on a Caribbean cruise. Geert met us just outside the cruise port and drove us to his ranch where they offer horseback riding and bike tours. We were scheduled for the mountain bike tour. It was just my husband and I which was really nice for us. Geert is a certified cycling coach and competitive rider, we new we were in good hands right away. The bikes were like new. We headed out on the bikes right from the ranch and off road onto some dirt trails right away. The island is beautiful and there were great views on the ride. We road along the shore and up to the light house, then around to the other side of the island and worked our way back to the ranch. It was a 2 hour ride and Geert gave us lots of information about the island on the tour. He asked us about our skill level and made sure to adjust the ride for us. He gave me some great biking tips that I will use from now on and probably enjoy my own mountain bike a little more. Geert also gave us some suggestions on beaches to enjoy on the island before our ship departed that afternoon. We had a great afternoon on the beach after the bike tour.

I have to add that the horses at Rancho Notorious were very healthy and well taken care of. One of the ladies from our ship took the horse back tour while we were on the bike tour. She was very pleased with her horseback ride. I am a horse owner and I do not do horseback riding tours when on vacation, but I would recommend this place for horseback riding too.

I would definitely take this tour again and highly recommend it. It is a great way to see Aruba and get some great exercise at the same time.

We took a 2 hour tour with Geert and Barbara. We are intermediate and advanced mountain bikers and loved every minute of it. Geert showed us some really fun trails and awesome views. He paced it just right to make sure we got to see everything but also got a great workout. We finished it up with an ice cold local beer. I would highly recommend this tour and would even do it again. He said he has many more trails to show us.
