Ever felt like treating yourself and your family to a once in a lifetime experience? Here is your chance to buckle up in air-conditioned SUV vehicles to enjoy personalized VIP treatment in our Outback Explorer adventure. Our guides are proud to show you hidden secrets that our island holds. We’ll drive you out into the countryside with style in comfortable jeeps.

The tour starts with a pick up at your hotel between 8:00 and 9:00 am. To start our journey, the guide will explain the history of the country as we drive through the villages learning amazing and interesting facts about local life. We continue on and stop at a school in El Caño village to visit a local school. It is one of the schools that we sponsor so you get to see how you give back to the local communities just by being on the tour! The children will welcome you with the biggest smiles ever!

In this unique tour, you will be invited into a country home owned by a family that has been in the area for generations! Once you’ve had a glimpse of Dominican country living, you’ll get to walk through the house and see their coffee and cacao plantations and organic production and even get a chance to buy the organic goods that are produced on-site.

Enjoy a delicious Dominican lunch served at a mountain ranch you will never forget including a personal tour of the green gardens to learn more about crocodiles, and native iguanas, and colorful tropical birds

Coming down the mountain we will be hosted by a beautiful family. They will show you anything and everything that can be made from a coconut; from the shell to the nut, every bit is an asset and you will get to test the purest coconut oil available anywhere. We will not leave before rehidrating with a fresh coconut water sipped directly from the fruit or a wonderful coco-loco!

Saying good-by to them we are heading back to the Anamuya River. To end a fabulous day with a bang, you’ll get to float in one of the tubes with a cocktail in your hand or just relax while getting tanned on a beautiful Caribbean beach. You will be returned to your hotel by 4:30 pm.

This is our second time in Punta Cana and my wife and I decided to take a tour. We scheduled a tour with Outback and were extremely happy with our selection. Our tour guide Susi was the BEST! We learned so much about Punta Cana and Susi made the day so much fun. She was so personable and we laughed and smiled all day. She was always offering us refreshments and it was obvious that her main concern was that we were having a good time. If you decide to to take a tour while in Punta Cana I strongly suggest that you use Outback and ask for Susi.

We were on our honeymoon and did the Outback adventure tour with Baldomar and it was fantastic! This was our favorite day in the Dominican Republic. We wanted a cultural experience so that we would have the opportunity to see part of the country and what life is like. We felt Baldomar was very informative and enjoyed our time with him. He is a very intelligent man as he knows at least 4 or 5 different languages, he did the tour in English and German. We enjoyed visiting the homes on the tour, the coffee is amazing and loved that we had the opportunity to purchase souveiners from the locals! We chose to do the smaller tour which was just us and one other couple and we really enjoyed the more one on one interaction with Baldomar. It was a great day!

We travelled with our 7yr old daughter. Eddy was very profesional and treated us as we were his family. Our travel mugs were never dry:). Very attentive to our wants and needs. He was a great narrator for our tour. We visited some spectacular sites, such as a coconut oil factory, coffee manufacturer, and a school. We stoped to have lunch with a beautiful Mountain View, fed the iguanas, met cigar rollers, took a dip in the refreshing river and stopped by the beautiful beach. Each stop Eddy would create a different concoction typical to his island and made us feel as if it was our island too.

Me, my husband and two couples who are vacationing with us did this excursion yesterday. We learned so much about the DR culture as well as all natural healing methods via coffee, cocoa and plants. We opted for a private tour in an SUV that allowed us to move at our own pace vs. the group excursion on a bus with others. Our driver/tour guide, Baldomar, was uh-may-zing!!! He has lived in the DR his entire life which was a great advantage. He was a wealth of knowledge on the culture and natural healing (as mentioned earlier). He was very friendly and accommodating. My husband left his hat at home and we knew he needed one to combat the DR sun. Baldomar informed us that we would be able to purchase one at one of the stops near the end of our tour for a minimum price compared to the resort price. When we left that stop, I inquired about the hat. He said he forgot. He could see that I was a bit disappointed and went out of his way to take us to a market where we were not only able to purchase a hat for my husband, everyone was able to purchase souvenirs at a great price! We ran way past our time and appreciate Baldomar for his willingness to ensure that everyone was satisfied! That only is worth five stars!!!!!

This excursion was the best one we took during our honeymoon! We took an SUV with AC, which was great, and one other couple was with us. We got our own guide to explain where we were going and some of the history of the DR. Baldomar, our guide, was the best! He was very personal and always answer whatever questions we had. We visited a house where they harvested coconuts and saw how they make coconut milk, oil, and use out of the shell. He then took us to a home where we got to see the inside of their home and how they roast/harvest coffee and cocoa. Later we went to a building where we had great fried chicken, rice, vegetables, and pumpkin soup and then toured the gardens they had and miniature zoo. We also got to try hand rolled cigars there that were great. The beach we visited at the end was the best beach we went to all week, it was a public beach but where we were it was empty and beautiful. Great excursion overall and would highly recommend it, especially if Baldomar is your guide.

I do not know where to begin! Our tour guide Jorge and driver Cesar made sure that we were engaged and comfortable from the moment we boarded the safari truck. There were drinks of water, soda, or rum offered while Jorge gave us some history about the Dominican Republic. Up into the mountains we went to our first home to witness how coconut oil was made. Fresh coconut and coconut water are so delicious. Our second stop was a coffee and cocoa bean farm. The owner of the house/ farm, Chappy and his family welcomed us and showed how they make a living growing and harvesting coffee and cocoa. We were able to purchase these items from him as well. The third and final stop was a beautiful canopied area overlooking the mountains where we had an authentic Dominican lunch. On the way back to the resort, Jorge quizzed us on all of the information he’d provided us. The winner was gifted a bottle of rum. This is a terrific excursion if you love history and interested in the way other cultures live.

We were very lucky to have Alex as our guide for the trip. His English was perfect for a group of non-Spanish speakers. Great sense of humor and there was not a single question he couldn't answer about the culture, company, families, plantations and about anything else we could come up with. We highly recommend requesting him as your guide - you will not be disappointed.

The trip was exactly what we wanted and unexpected at the same time. So many people go for zip lines, monkey experiences and other popular tourist type activities. When we go to another country we want to learn about the culture, the people, the food and the history of what makes each location special to the local people. This tour provided exactly that and then some.

Hearing and seeing what Outback Adventures is doing to support the local villages and people by expanding their clinics and schools is incredible. We loved spending time at the family home that had a coconut oil production learning how the oil is made. It's amazing seeing them do this without the use of "modern" technology and produce such an incredible oil; which we did buy to take home. They donate the outer shells to people in the community to then turn into jewelry and other items so they can support their respective families through the sales.

The next family home we were greeted by the most playful chihuahua puppy while Alex took us around to show us their vanilla beans, cacao and coffee production. Learning about the homes and how they are constructed and operated was very humbling. We had the opportunity to taste raw cacao beans, FRESH (not store fresh but REAL fresh) coffee beans, sugar cane and more.

Lunch was a stop at their ranch with iguanas, birds, rabbits and the most amazing views of the countryside that few have the opportunity to experience. The food they served was excellent and timed perfectly as a storm rolled in allowing us to eat and cool down while it blew through the valleys and mountains.

We did miss out on the river stop due to the torrential rains but it wasn't safe to go so don't feel like it was missing. We did make it to the beach before the rains hit there. The beach was very busy with all the locals enjoying the hot day and what appeared to be a tour of 50 or so buggies with everyone totally coated in mud and sand LOL. While there, we had a rare opportunity to help the local fishermen pull their boats in with their mahi mahi catches. Alex told us about the sacred burial grounds just up from the beach that is off limits but did talk about the history behind it which was amazing.

Overall, this was a trip that should NOT be skipped. There are two tours the company offers and this one is perfect considering it is more intimate with only 4 people and in an air conditioned vehicle. We saw the large groups in the trucks and have to say they looked a bit miserable due to side flaps lowered due to the rains. If we ever make it back to the DR, I would absolutely do this tour again with Alex as the guide.

Our tour guide Eddy and driver Leo were over the top great. From the moment they picked us up at Dreams Palm Beach, which is an incredible resort, he made us feel like we were familia. Eddy endeaingly had us call him daddy and Leo uncle. The outback excursion took us to the deepest caverns of Punta Cana where we were able to experience life through the lenses of the common Dominican citizen, We visited a family cocoa and coffee plantation where they demonstrated how cocoa is transformed into chocolate and the art of roasting organic coffee. Lunch at the Outback ranch was a pleasant surprise. What we expected was a box lunch but what we received was a complete Dominican meal - Rice and beans, fried chicken and grilled chicken and pork chops grilled over an open fire.

The ranch has a rum shack where you can purchase rum at local process and hand rolled cigars. The savings here are worth the price of the excision.

After lunch we went swimming in a lazy river complete with floating tubes and all for about an hour complete with tour guided rolling bar.

During the excursion we learned about how companies like Outback are in partnership with the tourism industry to ensure that DR remains an organic and sustainable nation and how revenue generated by tourism goes back into the educational system to make certain the both children and adults in the DR are provided with the opportunity to go to school,

At our final stop we visited a coconut plantation and learned about how coconuts are transformed into coconut oil and how all the parts of the coconut are reused organically.

One of the things that we try to do when we travel is to emerse ourselves in local culture as much as possible. The outback tour was enlightening, fun and culturally enriching. Differently a MUST do when you visit, we will tweet, Facebook, and tell all our friends in the States for sure of this very memorable experience.
