Description
We will pick you up at your accommodation around 8:30 am but pick up time might be adjusted to meet cruise ship schedule. We will always contact you about the exact pick up time after reservation.
You will meet your friendly local guide who will show you the island in this 4.5-hour Curacao island tour. The tour will lead your through the North-West coast of Curacao to see several water spectacles formed by the crushing waves. These waves not only create natural formations but also the typical thundering sound that locals call the Breath of Curacao, hence the name of this tour.
This highlight Curacao island tour will visit the following landmarks of the island:
Mini desert of Curacao: After pickup from your accommodation and a safety briefing, your adventure starts off at the wide-open desert planes. Your guide will tell you about the volcanic and coral geological origins of the island with three distinct terraces running for miles along the northern coastline of Curacao.
Supladó: We then visit the natural jacuzzi where sea water and foam are sprayed through a chute into the air displaying colorful fountains and rainbows. One can stand in the shallow warm water surrounding the Supladó and watch the spectacular show from close by. You may also spot exotic birds like herons, frigate birds and caracaras in this area.
Boka Tabla: We then head towards the Shete Boka National Park where we visit a cave half immersed in water with a narrow opening towards the sea. This allows powerful breaking waves to rush into the cave with a pounding and roaring resonance. This beautiful sight set in its natural theater is an unforgettable memory of Curacao.
Boka Pistol: An inlet where the waves smash against the coral rock wall and explode into a furious fountain that sounds like a gun shot, hence the name. One can photograph the spectacle from a lookout point or stand facing the water with the risk of getting soaking wet.
At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel or the cruise ship terminal.

- Closed hiking shoes and hat recommended
- Swimwear and towel if you want to stand under the blowhole
Good to know
- Minimum age: 5 years
- Pregnant women and people with back, neck or heart problems are not allowed
- Hiking is involved
- Do not bring valuables as we will leave the Jeep unattended when we hike to the remote sites
- Tour starts with a pick up between 8:00-9:00 a.m., we will email you the exact pick up time depending on where you stay
- We do not pick up from the Westpunt area, those who stay there will need to drive to a location which we will email you

Remote part of island
This was a great tour if you want to see the off the beaten path of the island. The beach with the turtles is crowded. The blow hole was spectacular. Our guide was laid back and drove safely. We recommend, however, that the company install seat belts in the back part of the vehicle.

This company was able to accommodate my request less than one day in advance. We thought we would be joining a group but instead were given a private tour. Had the jeep to ourselves. Elmer was our guide and he was fabulous. He arrived on time with water or juice for the tour. He has a wonderful tour guide with a head full of interesting facts and island history to share. We covered the whole island in the half day and saw everything we wanted to see. It was an awesome way to wrap up our vacation.

Howard was an amazing guide. He was fun to be around, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about the island. This is the best tour you can take of the island. This is the number one "must do" on the island. We saw most of the island on the full day tour. Don't do the half day, you will miss out. He took us to snorkel with sea turtles; that was so surreal and hands down the best experience of my life. He took us to see the flamingos in the wild and all through the national park.

The guide, (I forgot his name) was very knowledgeable about the island. He arrived early for pickup. He took us to places we would have otherwise never seen that are not advertised in this trip. The blowholes and mini desert was amazing to see. Definitely a must do trip. Be prepared to hit some rocky areas but well worth it.

Loved this open air tour of remote areas of the island. The 4x4 access allowed us to visit incredible natural coastline areas and remote arid landscapes. Our tour guide was very informative and provided excellent descriptions and commentary along the route adding to the experience. My husband and I really enjoyed this excursion and would highly recommend it as good value for money.

Alan greeted us early with a smile and a wealth of information. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. All of the stops we made were amazing-- the inlets at Shete Boka are breathtaking, the plantation house is fascinating, the off roading provides a unique view of the island, and the flamingos (which were not even part of the planned itinerary) are adorable! It was my first time in Curaco and since I was on a Cruise ship, had a limited time.
Our tour guide Elmer was on time, very nice and very professional.
It was supposed to be only a 4 hr. tour,but it took at least 6.5 hrs., because he treated us very well by not only fullfilling the itinerary and appropriate stops but also he took us to a few more beaches and sightseeing spots that were not included in our initial tour.
I have been to many places and seen different guided tours, but our tour guide Elmer made this as an amazing Curaco experience.

This was our second time doing this tour. We visited 4 years ago and did the tour with Howard. We returned this year with friends and wanted to do the tour again with them. This tour is amazing!!! Howard was our tour guide both times, and Howard is absolutely incredible. He made the trip so fun!!! He is incredibly knowledgeable about the island taught us a great deal. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! You get a view of the island you would not get any other way.

Our driver and guide,Elmer was very nice! Spoke great English.....we toured the northern part of Curacao in an open Jeep! As the information about the tour states..it can be very bumpy on parts of the tour...some others complained about this,but read the description..it’s stated very clearly...this tour may not be for everyone! Very informative tour on the country of Curacao,which I knew nothing about before visiting today. We were lucky enough to see a sea turtle,as well as flamingos!

We booked a group tour and ended up having a private tour with our fabulous guide, Elmer! Elmer made sure that we learned about the history and culture of Curacao and showed us many sights. We did not bring our camera and he took pictures of us during the day and emailed them to us. Overall, a very special experience!

I just returned from Curacao and did this tour. Howard was our guide and we had an amazing time. The tour was very thorough and we saw so much of the island and were extremely comfortable renting a car afterwards. Howard was extremely knowledgeable of Curacao and it’s history and boy was he entertaining. I can still hear his “beep, beep”warnings for the bumps on the road. We went to great locations. I highly recommend the tour, company and Howard as a guide. I made our trip that much more special.

We booked a shared tour but being the only guests it ended up being a really cheap private tour. We were informed about everything well in advance so we arrived on the island without any worries and we ended up having lots of fun discovering the island. We also had a brilliant guide who did everything as previously were told and he let us take our time without being obliged to. We could not have wished for more. Our 2nd time using this tour group. When we sent an email requesting a tour they remembered when we went before and what we did. We had an Elmer as a guide for the 2nd time and couldn't ask for a better person. He took us on a wonderful tour of downtown, the curaçao liquor factory, showed us most of the resorts because we may want to come and stay a week, took us to 2 beaches. One where we snorkeled with sea turtles(awesome!) and one a beautiful beach where we could jump off 20 ft. cliff into crystal clear water. We also stopped for lunch at a wonderful local restaurant looking over a beautiful beach and cove. It was a great day and couldn't ask for a better time. Highly recommended!!!

Diese Tour durch den Shete Boka Natural Park ist eine absolute Empfehlung! Auf der offenen, aber überdachten, Ladefläche eines Jeeps geht es über Stock und Stein durch die wüstenartige Region des Nationalparks mit diversen Stops an Naturschauspielen, die man sich nicht entgehen lassen sollte! Der Guide (und Fahrer) ist äußert erfahren, informativ und alles andere als langweilig ;-)
Wenn man allerdings etwas ängstlich ist (oder eine ängstliche Begleitung hat ;-) ) sollte man sich die Tour überlegen, da die Sitze kaum Schläge abfangen (Rücken) und es auch keinerlei Anschnallmöglichkeiten gibt - daher ein Stern Abzug. Ansonsten: Daumen hoch!
Wenn man allerdings etwas ängstlich ist (oder eine ängstliche Begleitung hat ;-) ) sollte man sich die Tour überlegen, da die Sitze kaum Schläge abfangen (Rücken) und es auch keinerlei Anschnallmöglichkeiten gibt - daher ein Stern Abzug. Ansonsten: Daumen hoch!
