Description

An entire day catered to your own pace and wishes with your very own guide for a maximum of 9 people. You can decide where you want to go and how much time to spend at each location. If you need help what to do on Curacao, we have many itineraries that could suit your style. This tour is ideal for those with a short stop-over or cruise ship passengers who want to make the most out of their time on Curacao.

Below are a few places first time visitors to Curacao should see. Unfortunately there is no time to visit all of these locations in one day but we will be happy to create the best and most complete itinerary for you.

Your guide will pick you up at your hotel or cruise ship terminal. Most guest choose to start between 8-9 am.

We would do a quick tour of downtown Willemstad showing you this quaint and historical town that is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

We then continue driving to the west of the island and visit Shete Boka where you can see the rough north coast of the island.

We would include visits to several stunning beaches like the famous Grote Knip, Port Marie, Kenepa Beach to swim and snorkel or go cliff jumping at Playa Forti. We can provide you with snorkel gear and fins.

We will pass by the Salt Lakes where you may spot some flamingos. Along the way we can stop for lunch at a truly local place or a high class gourmet restaurant.

We can include a short visit to the Curacao Sea Aquarium to watch a dolphin show or shark feeding.

We can pass through the Cristoffel National Park to enjoy the panoramic views and learn about the interesting flora, fauna and historic landscapes.

We can visit the famous Hato Caves where Arawak indians and runaway slaves used to hide.

A perfect place to finish our tour would be at the Curacao Liqueur Factory where the famous Blue Curacao is made. Alternatively we can include a visit to one of the largest ostrich farms outside of Africa where you can witness all stages of ostrich life from egg to baby ostrich and from baby ostrich to a fully grown adult. The more adventurous ones can even ride these birds!

This itinerary is just an example, the final route is completely up to you!

    What a Great Adventure!
Long was our guide for an amazing day on Curacao. He was very flexible and made great suggestions on what we should see and let us go at our own pace. We could not have had a better time. Long provided us with some history of the island and the areas we visited. Thanks for the amazing memories!

We did a private tour with Chippy and enjoyed it thoroughly. He provided flippers for us and took us to a couple of good snorkeling spots. He also did a wonderful job of showing us around the island of Curacao and helping us understand a bit about life on the island. A private tour is definitely the way to go and we definitely recommend Chippy.

Javier was our guide for the day, and took us everywhere we wanted to go, and added some surprises as well. He gave us a wonderful introduction to the history, culture, topography, climate and life in Curacao. We started at Shete Boka to see the awesome "blow" hole, and a grotto. I was so glad we had Javier as our driver - the roads in Shete Boka Park are narrow, unpaved, winding and rocky without much signage. Had we rented a car, we would have certainly gotten lost...or ended up in the ocean!
We went to several beaches, including Playa Piskado where we snorkeled with numerous sea turtles, a terrific experience. Also went to Playa Kniep Grande and Playa Laguna, where we had lunch at a lovely cliffside restaurant overlooking the beach, accompanied by lounging iguanas.
Javier took us to a landhuis (former plantation house) which became the studio of a beloved national artist, Nena Sanchez. We saw flamingos in the sand flats, and took us to Chobolobo to visit the Curacao factory. We drove through Willemstad, and Javier told us the history of the city and its various neighborhoods.
Javier was a wonderful guide. He spoke excellent English as well as Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento, the local dialect.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to be pampered, set their own pace and explore Curacao and its beautiful sites.

Booked a full day tour to see the "real" island. Larry, our guide, was great. We saw the Ostrich Farm, Aloe plantation, Shete Boka blow hole, Hato caves, flamingo's and several beaches.
Larry took us to a wonderful local restaurant (try the iguana!) and was an ambassador for his island. Tons of knowledge about history, culture and island life. He rapped to us and had us doing karaoke in the "Big Larry" red van.
My kids had the best time and so did we!
    Highly recommend.
