Description

The tour starts with a pick up at your hotel in the Punta Cana, Bavaro area. We will first drive through endless sugar cane fields and bateys, which will give you the first insights of the adventurous day you have ahead of you. Friendly Dominicans will smile and wave at you as we pass by local schools and villages.

Enjoy free flowing purified water, soft drinks, rum and beer all day long. Your fun and professional multilingual speaking guide will explain the history and culture, plants, animals and the way that Dominicans have lived for hundreds of years. We will drive you deep into the countryside, up the luscious green mountain of Palo Amargo to our private ranch.

Walk through a fruit plantation to see fruit growing in its natural environment. You will get to taste fresh fruit and sugarcane, see native animals like crocodiles, iguanas, turtles and much more.

Shop at a local rum shack with local products like rum, cigars, coffee and a lot more – all for local prices! Than you have the chance to visit a typical Dominican home, meet the family that lives there and enjoy a drink of freshly made coffee with them. See coffee and chocolate growing on trees as you walk through a cocoa plantation.

At the end of the tour, take a refreshing dip at the beautiful Macao Beach, relax under a palm tree of try boogie boarding before returning to your hotel by 2:00 pm.

    Great Tour
We really enjoyed this excursion. We had a group of 14 people (7 kids between ages 12-15). The tour guide Angel and driver Vladimir were absolutely great and made the trip. The kids enjoyed the Cocoa bean process and coffee bean process. The meal was the best meal we had during our entire Punta Cana vacation. Well worth the time and money.

    This is Must!
Got a chance to take a view in the Country as a whole. A chance to learn about the culture, history, people and the way of life. They even feed us so good Dominican Fried chicken as tour guide Angel would say. Would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling. And the driver Val was a so nice!

    Outback trip
This is a must for the person who likes to see how people live. Visit a local school the trip raises money for local school children to buy school uniform, if you want to take a box of pencils or crayons give them to your guides. Also visited a local house where we looked at coconut products Coffee roasting, chocolate grinding and cigar rolling together with fruit and vegetables. Lovely lunch followed by a nice swim in a Riverside area. The drink flows all the time happy hour is every ten minutes cracking trip would recommend it

Outback Experience - Fantastic Day Adventure for All
Brilliant day out and worth every penny. Vladimir (our driver) and Leonandro (guide) made the trip even more enjoyable. Their knowledge of their country and how coffee, coconuts, rum, and cigars are processed is just amazing!. To purchase T-shirts knowing that all profits will go to the local primary Schools in the area just made us realize how fortunate we were. To visit families working and living in their homes and making a business from the produce of the land was a wonderful experience to see and be part of. You were able to sample many of the made produce in advance so make sure you carry some money with you. Our guide was so helpful throughout the day, and on the way home we were able to have a little sing-a-long was some classic music being played. This trip was a great day out and you get to experience the culture and meet some of the locals who live there. Whatever you asked for out guide was always on hand and out driver was prompt when he picked you up and dropped us back to out Hotel. You can never fault any of them and they were always willing to help. This is a trip I would advise anyone to visits the county to make sure that they go a long to.

    Amazing very insightful
Pack for a purpose is so important . We packed for a purpose and handed to the local school which opened our eyes and our childrens. The children walk miles to school for half a day of learning because the school can't fit more as they are small. The school buses are not used for children but for hotels to bring staff to work.
Many children work to help their families.
Schools do not have budgets like we do and a job is a privilege in Dominican republic with little pay. Schools do not have pencils pens and many books ill add photos. The playground is broken concrete that looks so unsafe minimal equipement for children to play with. Children are fed but we failed to see a working kitchen instead a fire outside where they cook the basic food. Morining children sre given bread and afternoon are given rice.
The lake to swim in was amazing and refeshing.
Each stop you make opens your eyes to how they live of the land . Electricity is expensice many just hook themselves up including local police station.
They have water for 4 hours a week which they pump and save and oftern have hours of power outages a day.
We saw how cigars are rolled how they make coffee and chocolate got to sample it to. See the many ways in which they use everysingle bit of a tree for different things.

Angel was an angel on the trip answered all our questions and explained everything so well and in such good humour to.

This is a must do trip as you see rhe real Dominican republic not just punta cana a place built purely for tourist.
Noone lives their really as its to expensive

    The REAL Dominican Experience!
Wow. We haven't stopped talking about this day. If you come to this island with the intention of doing one excursion, please do this one.
We were in awe of the culture, history and knowledge from our tour guide Leandro! What a great guy. He was funny, engaging and knew everything about everything.
We loved the cigar making, coffee experience and coconut oil. We only wish we took more dollars to buy more authentic goodies at a great price.

Thank you Leandro for a great day - we will see you soon.

    Wonderful Experience
We did the Dominican safari, this tour was the best part of our trip. We felt safe, entertained, and relaxed the entire time. You learn so much about the country and Dominican culture through the experience. You get to taste and try new things. It's a nice break from laying on the beach or by the pool, you get to leave the resort and see local culture, buy from locals. Our tour guide was so much fun and taught us so much. I highly recommend!

    Fascinating 1/2 day countryside trip
We were recently in Punta Cana and booked a 1/2 day Outback Adventure. They were punctual with picking us up from our resort hotel. Our guide, Jesus Santos was terrific. He took us everywhere the tour was supposed to go and shared a lot of history and cultural information about life in the Domican Republic. The highlight was our time spent at the Plantation. He showed us all different plants and fruits ranging from mango, coconut, avocado and quenepas. My kids were fascinated with it all. We saw the processing of cacao, tobacco and a typical Dominican house. We past through local villages and a special surprise was running into some local children who we were able to give some pencils we brought as donations. The half-day tour was truly enjoyable from beginning to end. Thank you to Outback and Jesus for the wonderful memories.
