Description

St. Barts is a gem of an isle. Just nine square miles and home to pristine beaches, luxury yachts, designer boutiques and celebrities. It is the most flamboyant of the French West Indies islands. Arrive in Gustavia Harbor and disembark at great sidewalk cafes and boutiques. White sandy beaches are within walking distance, or take an island tour with a taxi and spend the day at St. Jean Beach, which hosts the famous "Nikki Beach" Restaurant.

Rental cars and taxi are offered in port after disembarking the boat. Valid driver’s license and credit card are required for car rental. Minimum age to drive is 18 years. If you decide to drive, keep in mind that the roads are steep and hilly, twisty and turny and locals drive quite fast.

The boat crossing takes approximately 45 minutes.

Boat leaves St. Maarten at 9:00 am, check in at 8:00 am

    Very bumpy ride
St Barth is absolutely stunning and it’s a true paradise. However getting there was a nightmare.
The captain was going too fast and it felt like we went through a washing machine. 4 people got sick including my husband and it put a dampener on our day. By the time he recuperated it was time to go back. If the captain was going a bit slower, it would have been a smoother ride and a five star day

This trip we went to St Barts on the Edge. From booking to the service on the Edge everything was top notch.
We lucked out that we had a very smooth sea and the trip was more comfortable than the last time we did it.
If sea seems smooth sit up front with the Captain.

We took the Edge over to St. Barth's and it was the way to go. I heard rumors of it's nickname being the "Vomit Comet" but we found the ride to be smooth sailing. It was a quick 45 minutes or so from St. Maarten and they offered complimentary beverages (beer included).

we took the Edge to St Barts for a day tour of the island Our Skipper ( I'll caller her Capt Mary Bligh) was stern and direct and made sure that she had everyones' attention. The trip over took about 50 minutes and it was a little bouncy, but only one person had to hurl. The crew was excellent and kept usfull with refreshments.

he Edge ferry to St. Barth's was pleasant and it ran smoothly. The captain was safe and she explained things clearly, and the two other guys kept things running and the drinks flowing. I wouldn't say it was exciting or anything, but it wasn't really meant to be a pleasure cruise so much as a ferry. We did see some nice views, but for the most part on the way out we braced ourselves against some big waves and kept looking at the horizon to not get sick :). The departure both ways were on time, and it was a much smoother ride on the way back, as promised due to the winds. I would suggest a Dramamine if you are prone to getting sick - I took one chewable and I didn't get sick AND I didn't fall asleep - the happy medium.

Our first trip was the Edge ferry to St. Bart's. They warned us ahead of time that it would be a very rough ride going over that day, and it was. The boat rocked and listed something fierce, and the sea sprayed through the windows onto people seated on either side. If you don't want to get wet, or are prone to seasickness, sit in the middle. I was fine, but hubby got a bit queasy. It gets very muggy with the windows closed, but they have to be closed to avoid getting all that water on board. The ride back was much smoother; I think only one side got splashed one time. There are drinks (soda, water, beer) on board, and they are happy to serve you. It is, however, just a ferry ride, so don't expect more than transportation.

My wife and i booked a ferry to St. Barths with them aboard the Edge. Captain Anka was amazing and made the trip a blast. Bit of a warning to those of you who get sea sick, the 40 minute ride there is a bit rough but Anka and the crew do all they can to make it as smooth as possible.

The Edge took us for a 45-minute ride to St. Bart's. The boat leaves St. Maarten at 9AM, and leaves St. Bart's around 3PM. This is plenty of time to see the island, have a nice lunch and spend some time on the beach. The ride over is very choppy, so you should skip breakfast that morning if you have a queasy stomach. Most of the shops close for the afternoon Siesta, so you should take advantage of that time to go to the beach. The staff on the Edge was also very friendly and accommodating.

We did the day trip to saba and st barths. Both trips were rough crossings but felt safe the whole time and enjoyed the adventure however some people were sick. The crew and captain on the edge ll were great. The trips are pricey but worth it to see the other islands.

We took The Edge ferry to St Barths on a day when the sea was quite lumpy. The crew were extremely professional, the ferry punctual and the trip pleasant thanks to skilful driving. Would recommend without hesitation as the most comfortable way to get to and from St Barths to St Martin.

aking the Edge to St. Barts is easy and convenient. It's a swift water taxi and you won't get wet. Soda, water and beer is provided to and from. It's a bumpy ride over as the wind is coming at you, but smooth on the return to Sint Maartin.

It was perfect. Had seen a few reviews about getting seasick but we had no problems nor did anyone else who went- must be those land-lover lightweights, lol. We were told to be at Aqua Mania ***NOT the police docks as some literature states*** at 8:00am for a 9am departure. We arrived on time, got to St Barth’s on time, and were told to be back at the dock for return by 3:45. Had a car rental waiting at the dock from TopLoc (highly recommend as well- choose dock pickup when you rent online) with a sweet lady with my name on a sign. Less than 5 minutes to the airport rental counter and less than 5 minutes later I was on my way. But this is about the Edge. Smoother ride back than over but as I said, no real issues. Beverages including Presidente both ways and a very friendly and professional crew. Bring your own towels and BRING A FILLED COOLER if you have one; everything on the island is expensive. Last but not least, BE ON TIME FOR THE RETURN TRIP. All but one of us were back by 3:45 and at 4pm we promptly left without him and I 100% support that position.

We took the one day trip from Simpson Bay to St. Bart's on the "Edge" catamaran, it was a great way to see another Island. We booked through our hotel and had no problems boarding in the morning. I have to warn you though, it can be a very, very, rough ride to St. Bart's, so if you have issues with sea sickness, make sure to take something before you leave. The ride back is much smoother and more enjoyable. The crew however, was great, they did their best to make sure everyone was as comfortable as possible, Romeo took great care of us. Once you arrive at St. Bart's you do have to go through customs, but then you are free to enjoy the Island. We really enjoyed our day and we left right at our scheduled time. The views of St. Bart's as you are pulling away are beautiful.
