Description
The tour starts with a pick up at your accommodation around 8:30 am but pick up time might be adjusted to meet cruise ship schedule. We will always contact you about the exact pick up time after reservation.
You will meet your friendly local guide who will show you the island in this 7-hour Curacao highlight island tour. The tour will lead your through the whole island to see several water spectacles formed by the crushing waves and to enjoy the most beautiful beaches.
This highlight Curacao island tour will visit the following landmarks of the island:
Mini desert of Curacao: After pickup from your accommodation and a safety briefing, your adventure starts off at the wide-open desert planes. Your guide will tell you about the volcanic and coral geological origins of the island with three distinct terraces running for miles along the northern coastline of Curacao.
Supladó: We then visit the natural jacuzzi where sea water and foam are sprayed through a chute into the air displaying colorful fountains and rainbows. One can stand in the shallow warm water surrounding the Supladó and watch the spectacular show from close by. You may also spot exotic birds like herons, frigate birds and caracaras in this area.
Boka Tabla: We then head towards the Shete Boka National Park where we visit a cave half immersed in water with a narrow opening towards the sea. This allows powerful breaking waves to rush into the cave with a pounding and roaring resonance. This beautiful sight set in its natural theater is an unforgettable memory of Curacao.
South-West coast: After Shete Boka National Park we will leave the North-West coast and cross over to the South-West coast of Curacao where you will notice how the scenery changes completely from a dry arid climate to a green hilly coast where you will find nearly all of Curacao's natural white beaches with their turqouise blue waters or as locally called playas.
Snorkeling: At one of these playas we will go snorkeling, allowing you to discover and enjoy the underwater world of Curacao.
At the end of the tour, you will be returned to your hotel or the cruise ship terminal.

We just did the full day tour with Allen as our guide. He gave such an in depth tour and is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the island. We were picked up exactly on time, given a background about the day ahead and then were off in our four wheel drive Jeep. First went into the outback and more remote areas where we got an in depth guide to historic sites as well as facts about local fauna including what to stay away from. Then we headed to Boca National Park where we went into a cave and got some fantastic pictures. We got to see two “blow holes” and got to take some amazing pictures with the best backdrops that Curacao has to offer. After the national park we headed to snorkel with the very friendly sea turtles and there were plenty of them. We were then taken to an additional two beaches with some of the best snorkeling on the island. All I can say to wrap up is that you would be crazy to tour with any other company. Just an absolutely amazing day, you guys have an amazing tour guide in Allen and he really goes out of the way for his guests. You must do this tour.December 14, 2018

From pick up to drop off, this tour was terrific. It was so easy to get off the ship and walk over to where we were being picked up...no standing in line or waiting for crowded cruise ship organized tour. The open-air land rover was comfortable in spite of the rough ride, our guides were so informative and helpful and provided us with plenty of water and lemonade to keep us hydrated in the heat, and the Shete Boka National Park was really fun to see. That having been said, the snorkeling was the best part of the day...the beach was nothing special, but..we got to snorkel with about 100 sea turtles that gather regularly at this spot. It was really special. Afterwards we went to another beach that was prettier with great coral just a few yards out and lots of great fish, but nothing could top the turtles. Loved our trip with Howard. He was kind, informative and solicitous of our welfare.. the Playa Pescado beach is nothing to write home about but it was fun to see the turtles and the fisherman cutting up and selling fish. Our tuna lunch there was pretty good but not great and too expensive. We loved the ride through the highlights of the island including the blowholes. We climbed into a cave and up a hill above it. Howard was flexible with our schedule to an extent. We recommend this. Also we loved our travel mates. Four of us from 18 to 76.August 08, 2018

We went on this adventure while we were in Curacao the week of Mother's Day. Howard was our guide and he was fantastic. Knowledgable and very entertaining. Kept us laughing but knew so much about Curacao and its history. Also, I called him the animal whisperer.....from the donkey, to the inguanas, to the birds....and even the chickens...all seemed to come to greet him and get a treat! He even took us for a ride over the big bridge and the beautiful views before dropping us back off at the hotel. He was great! The ocean views were amazing at the coast.......and we saw many different fish and the sea turtles when we snorkeled. It was a great day!May 22, 2018

This was our first jeep tour of Curacao; in the past we had done water adventures. Howard was our Tour guide; he was very knowledgeable, and gave us one of the best tours ever! We saw so many things and learned a lot about the island. EVERYONE knew him along the way, which was fun and added to the trip. Best day on a Caribbean island ever! Curacao Artief is a very organized, professional, and flexible company. I found their Shete Boka tour online, but our group of 10 adults was looking for something a little different. This company was very accommodating with our plans. Bernice was our guide and she was FANTASTIC! We got to hike Mount Christoffel, go to Shete Boka and swim with turtles all in one day. My teenage daughter and I did the full-day with tour Howard. Very beautiful and thorough tour: Juliana Bridge, art work, blow hole, cave, wind mills, lunch, flat tire, snorkel with turtles and fish, flamingoes in salt marsh and trip back to Santa Barbara Resort. After being picked up in the open air jeep, we headed out for an all day tour of the island. There was lots of off road (dirt road) that made it quite adventurous. I am sure we saw things the average tourist doesn't. Our guide Howard was very entertaining, knowledgeable, capable, and did I mention funny? Lunch was simple with rolls and tuna, crab, or chicken salad but was very tasty. plenty of water and punch available for coolers strapped on the back of the jeep. This was really a fun tour! The Sheta Boka Park and the blow holes along the coast was magnificent. The snorkeling was pretty good too. For anyone with a sense of adventure and wanting to see the back country- I would highly recommend this trip!!!April 21, 2018

We spent a day at the park and thoroughly enjoyed the "pistol," natural bridge, cave, and rocky inlets. It is quite an unforgiving landscape so be sure to bring lots to drink and good shoes!!! Be careful with little ones! Needs some conservation to address plastics (like in all places these days), but would go back!!!April 06, 2018

You have to do this tour with Howard! We did it on Wednesday 3/22/18. We were on a 7 days cruise and did not book an excursion for Curacao. On Tuesday night we were looking at some excursions on Trip Advisor, on the ships internet station, and saw this one, we read the reviews and by chance sent an email to Curacao Actief. We did not have phone service so could not call. The next morning they contacted me and said they did have an open spot for the two of us with Howard. So the full day trip had 8 of us in an open air Jeep. Howard made the day. He covered much more than we imagined. We had a fantastic time. Howard was well informed, funny, very knowable, and very personable. He really took his time with all of us. Go on this trip with Howard and you will not be disappointed. Curacao Actief was very accommodating and the price for the tour was extremely reasonable. So if you want to see the best sites, find out lots of info you would never see on a big tour and best of all get to swim with the turtles. Oh did I mention turtles we were actually swimming with 8 at once. Howard really knew where to go. Oh and did I mention the Flamingo's. It just keeps getting better. I was on a cruise ship and have tried to do this tour before however, timing was never right. This time I emailed the company and the tour was offered within the ships port time so that was great. Email payment and instructions were simple, we met our incredible and hilarious guide/driver- "Howard" and off we went. The tour is a full day activity in a 4 wheel jeep with a top. You will get to see many areas of the Island which tourist rarely see, caves were OK but the blow holes were awesome. Throughout the trip Howard would give us great background information mixed in with local jokes which was hilarious.Lunch was more than adequate then we were off swimming with turtles and schools of fish. Terrific tour, thank you Howard. One final note, wear a lot of sun screen and bring extra water. This tour is a must for the adventurous of heart.February 13, 2018

This tour provided a lot of interesting information about Curacao's natural history. The jeep tour was fun but very bouncy due to the rugged terrain. You are riding through the desert for a few hours so make sure to bring snacks and hydrate. There are two big jugs at the back of the truck - one with water, one with lemonade. The tour guide provided cups but it's easier to refill and hold onto your water bottle. There are also no bathrooms around for those few hours until the lunch break unless you want to pee by a cactus. We visited two blowholes and a voodoo cave with bats. Bats did not bother you as long as you were quiet and you can still take pictures of them. I recommend sneakers.November 19, 2017
They provided a picnic lunch in a shaded area with bathrooms. We ate tons of bread and yummy spreads such as chicken salad, tuna, and crab salad.
The snorkeling was the best and shortest part. We spent about an hour at a beach (forgot which one) and saw tons of fish and sea turtles without being so far from shore! The tour guide joined us snorkeling and would let us know if he saw something cool like a huge turtle. We were given snorkeling equipment including flippers and our guide would wash our masks for us to prevent from fogging up. Our belongings were kept safe in the van.
I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because the uncomfortable jeep ride part of the tour took the entire morning. I wish the time allocated for snorkeling was a lot longer. The tour guides were also great and entertaining.
For anyone doing this tour, I recommend the following:
-wear sneakers for the caves and blowhole
-bring a water bottle and snacks
-have your bathing suit on already or change during lunch time (no facilities at the beach)
-a cap/hat that tightens to your head (open jeep wind)
