Description

Check in at our office in Bavaro at 7:30 am or enjoy a complimentary pick up at your hotel between 7:10 am and 7:40 am. Exact pick up time will be advised after reservation. We offer free round trip transfer from main hotels in Punta Cana, Uvero Alto, Cabeza de Toro, Cap Cana and Bavaro.

We start our day with a safety briefing in Bavaro. Your guide will explain the rules and signs, and make sure that everyone is happy and feels comfortable in their buggies. Each driver needs to be familiar with driving manual and stick shift, and cannot wear flip flops. The buggy tour in Punta Cana is available for non-drivers who need a driver, but please note that max 3 non-drivers can attend the buggy adventure from Bavaro per tour.

After the short briefing we take off and head to the beautiful countryside, passing by tiny, colorful houses and natural wonders. Our first stop is a typical Dominican grocery store called colmado where you can get familiar with the local's lifestyle and enjoy a delicious Dominican coffee.

We will follow the natural path and pass by hundreds of palm trees, plantations, and the many faces of the countryside until we reach the limestone mine. We will drive around it, cruise over a farmland and pass by the houses where the workers live.

On the way to La Caiba and Macao, we will make a stop at an authentic grocery store again where the local people do their daily shopping. We will have a little snack and refreshments here to take a break from our half-day off-road excursion in Punta Cana.

Our last stop is Macao Beach where you can swim in the beautiful, turquoise water or relax on the shore, and perfect your tan before we head back to the starting point. We will arrive to Bavaro between 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm then drop you off at your hotel.

Mark was an awesome guide. Visiting the village was very interesting. All around a blast. We have been to the Dominican 3 times and did an excursion each time. This was the best and the only thing I would do differently is book the full day excursion instead of the half.... you get to drive up a mountain and visit a ranch on the full day tour.

If you're contemplating shopping this.... just do it. And be sure to go with THIS company for a smaller group experienced!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we came away feeling that we had gotten to see some of the real Dominican Republic. Would definitely recommend!

we had never been on a dune buggy before so things to note:
    1. its incredibly dusty so bring something to cover half ur face. they do sell bandanas for 5$ but we didnt carry extra cash outside of our tip.
    2. they provide goggles but if u have a different shaped face id highly recommend bringing ur own.

When arriving your asked to fill in a disclaimer, make sure you read it, and then check the vehicle yourself cos although tough terrain vehicles accidents happen and then your expected to pay for damages. The guide is a German chap a little off beat but knows his job and the countryside, all in all good few hrs entertaining fun.

The idea of travel in a group of buggies did not interest us in the slightest!!! This was a 2 buggy group with a guide, 3 cars total. Without a doubt well worth the price of admission. Don't let the price deter you.
November 4th half-day adventure headed out with our guide Mark. Very professional introductory to the buggies, great interaction with all staff. You will definitely require a bandana to cover your nose and mouth. Tour takes you through some amazing countryside with stops along the way. Mark throws in some educational if not anecdotal conversation along with a lot of laughs.

short of the long....... DO THIS TRIP!!!!

The tour is from 8 to 12/1 and that is really enough. In this time you drive through a lot of different kind of places and will be able to get a nice view of the real dominican republic. It really is enough time to see everything you want. The guide is so kind and shows you all kind of dominican places and habits in perfect english, french and spanish. Besides the racing with the good buggies its a really interesting tour with a lot of information about the locals. They really made a good trip. The guide makes pictures of you if you want, so you dont have to care about it. We even drove on the highway with like 85 km/h. Really recommended!

We went on the half day buggy trip yesterday.
After spending a lot of time comparing various buggy company's we decided to go with these guys.
The buggys are road legal and you clock up a good few miles throughout the trip. We was accompanied by our guide and one other family so 3 buggys in total.
The guide was great with good knowledge and was able to answer all questions, the locals at the stops you stop at are welcoming to the guides and do not harass you for any more money.
It was great to see the young kids running out there houses when we was out in the sticks to catch the sweets being thrown at them.

We urge everyone to book up

We booked a 1/2 day tour. It ended up being only my wife and I following Charlie on a private tour. We got to see some absolutely astounding places. The farms, the villages, the beach, the mine, the market. Everything was super cool. A local even fed me some horse which was really good. Do not do this if you want to stay clean. Definitely do this if you want to have a great time and go on a real adventure. You’ll see a lot and learn so much.

Also as they mentioned but no one seems to read, THE BUGGYS ARE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY. You will need to know how to drive a manual to take this tour, otherwise you’ll be in someone’s back seat.
    Response from supplier
Good Morning, .. Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed our tour and very BIG Thanks for mentioning the MANUAL TRANSMISSION :-) ... we will be expecting you back for our Full day adventure ... hasta la vista!

Do want to get off the beaten path, learn about the culture, have some fun, get dirty- then this is the adventure for you.
First, you get to drive one these Xtreme Buggies which are a lot of fun and a kick in the pants to drive. Just make sure you can drive a manual transmission.
Second, Charlie our guide, did a wonderful job telling us about the area, the culture, and how the people live there day to day. He has a great sense of humor and made the tour a lot of fun. You'll have a blast on this tour and you tour country side, see a farm, go through an abandoned mine, have a snack at a little store, travel to one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, then fly down a highway.
Third, did I mention you get to drive one those Xtreme Buggies and get muddy. Make sure you where clothes you don't care about.
If you enjoy small adventure tours- I can highly recommend this one.
    Response from supplier
YES! Driving the Buggy is the best part, we agree! But as well we are happy that you took the chance to get to know the country, we love so much, better. Great people, fantastic landscape... Best Buggys, for those who are familiar with driving stick shift :-) hope to see you guys again!

My girlfriend and I did the half day tour. It started off poorly when the lady went to the wrong hotel to pick us up, so we ended up being 20 minutes late, and our group went on the tour without us. We ended up getting a private tour, but it just felt awkward and uncomfortable without others
    Response from supplier
    Hola Matt,
I remember going to Hotel with a similar name ( obviously the wrong one) to pick you up. Thank good I could reach you by phone and you where nice enough to wait for me.
It was no problem going later as you and your girlfriend where the only customers this day, .. I would have changed your day of excursion if I would have know that you prefer to go in a group.
Normally we require a minimum of 4 people but knowing that a lot of people are only here for a short stay, we sometimes skip policy and give private tours.
I am very happy for your review. Picking you up and talking to you I had the feeling that you where a 100% happy and that you loved the tour.

Mark was a great guide, very informative and funny (loved the fact he had no filter :) he will tell you all "aboot" the island on each stop. The little villages we stopped at was a highlight and an eye-opener into island life.
Thanks again for a great experience.
If we'd have done the trip earlier in the holiday, we'd have done it twice !! That's how good it was.

We recently visit and enjoyed a stroll countryside. You will get dirty and it's kinda a rough ride on the buggies. Seen some interesting places but done more stopping at 3 different places then really riding. We did stop at the cave which was interesting along with the beautiful beach. The children running up and down along side trying to sell you paper and flowers was kinda of an eye opening on how they live.
