Your Countryside and Alto Vista Chapel horseback riding tour in Aruba starts with a pick up at your hotel or cruise ship terminal by an air-conditioned van 30-45 minutes before the tour.


After arriving to our ranch close to Palm Beach, you will listen to a quick briefing from your guide and meet your horse. You will find Paso Fino, Trocha, Trotton, and the South-American Quarter horses on our ranch. We provide both Western and English tack. Your guide will help you prepare and getting on your horse, then the horseback riding excursion takes off.


This scenic trail will take you through our 'Cunucu' or Arubian countryside. The tour will lead through the outback not having to cross streets or traffic. You will follow your guide to the hidden lagoon where many donkeys, iguanas, parakeets, goats and rabbits live. We will then stop at the historic Alto Vista chapel where you enjoy beautiful views. Choose a 4:00 pm departure for a sunset horseback ride in Aruba. This 2-hour trail ride is available for all skill levels and galloping is allowed.


After returning to our ranch, enjoy some fresh water, say farewell to your horse then take our shuttle back to your hotel or cruise ship terminal.


We offer guided horse riding excursions for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders with a minimum age of 6 years. The horseback tour was awesome and such a fun, relaxing way to see the island. Our tour guide Nestor was wonderful! He made my husband and I feel very comfortable up on the horses and even instructed us on how to handle a cantor. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

At first I thought I was crazy to sign up for this adventure as the only adult in charge of 6 "children" from the ages of 9-19. As soon as Nestor picked us up at our hotel he put my mind at ease. He was a true professional! Our experience ranged from beginner to intermediate beginner. We had a wonderful time! Their horses are perfectly trained. Everyone in our group loved it!!! I highly recommend horseback riding along the beach with Rancho Notorious!! Nestor and Max were amazing!!!

My husband and I went on the tour to the Alto Vista Chapel so that we could see some of the natural beauty of Aruba from a different angle. This trip was everything we had hoped for and we thought it was an ideal way to observe the unique beauty of the Aruban wilderness. The horses at Rancho Notorious appeared well cared for(very important to us) and were calm and gentle. As it turned out, the only ones on the ride were my self and my husband, accompanied by Nestor, our wonderful guide. He set a nice leisurely pace and was considerate, kind and personable throughout the trip.
Overall, this was a great experience we would highly recommend.

We LOVED this excursion! NESTOR was our guide and he was fantastic! This was not your average “trail ride.” Yes we went slow through some parts, but in the wide open spaces. We were allowed and encouraged to trot and even gallop! It was so fun! The fastest I’ve ever gone on a horse! We went down on the beach and up to the first church on Aruba. Nestor was very knowledgeable and fun! We would do it again and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Aruba!

This was a pleasant way to see some of Aruba's wilderness if that's what you're curious about - instead of another morning or afternoon at the beach. We chose # 5, Countryside and Alto Vista Chapel, for two hours. Small hills covered by dense low shrubs and briars dotted by groups of boulders and candlestick cacti make up the entire landscape which hardly varies at all. After a while the sea comes into view on the horizon which is a very refreshing enhancement. Ultimately, the very scenic chapel blends into this background. In all, the scenery isn't absolutely gorgeous but has its unique appeal and beauty. It's decidedly relaxing. We could gallop only briefly because of a tourist in the group for whom it was too scary but that didn't disappoint me so much. The trip would have been really great if our guide gave us information on geology, natural history, local culture, whatever, along the way. I would say this is a nice diversion from the sea if you have enough time. More and different water sports might be better for some, depending on tastes, especially if time is limited. Pick up and return to our villa was perfect.
